Miller's career round leads field on day two of Chris Banister Fall Classic
GLENCOE, Ala. – Senior Lindsay Miller was the star of round two of the Chris Banister Fall Classic for the Tennessee Tech women's golf team Tuesday, besting the other 39 participants by at least two strokes at Silver Lakes Golf Club.

GLENCOE, Ala. – Senior Lindsay Miller was the star of round two of the Chris Banister Fall Classic for the Tennessee Tech women's golf team Tuesday, besting the other 39 participants by at least two strokes at Silver Lakes Golf Club.
Setting a career-low single-round score by three shots, Miller fired a 2-under 70 on the day, chopping nine strokes off her first-round tally of 79. The Tech veteran unloaded five birdies during the day, jumping into fifth place overall with just 18 holes to play. Through two rounds she owned a 149 (79-70).
The monster day from Miller helped the Golden Eagles cut 10 strokes off of their score from round one. Tech maintained its hold on fifth place, posting a two-round total of 638 (324-314).
Junior Shelby Johnson stayed consistent, matching her output from day one to sit 18th among the 40 golfers. She concluded Tuesday with a 162 (81-81) overall. Fellow junior Arianna Clemmer ranked just a stroke behind of her teammate, wrapping the first two rounds at 163 (80-83) overall to tie for 19th.
In just her second career round, Heidi Lawson showed improvement, shaving four shots off her first-round output. The rookie tied for 22nd after totaling 164 (84-80). Rounding out Tech's team participants was sophomore Isabel York. Tying for 30th, she rounded out the day with a 176 (86-90).
Playing as an individual, sophomore Hannah Bratton flipped the script after a tough first round. She finished the day tied for 27th after turning in a 169 (94-75) and erasing a whopping 19 strokes off her first-round tally.
Host Jacksonville State continued to lead the event with a score of 603 (301-302) behind the efforts from the tournament's individual leader, Paula Vega. She finished round two at 142 (69-73) overall, leading the competition by four strokes.
Play will wrap up Tuesday with the final round set to begin with tee times starting at 7:30 p.m. CT.
