Bell makes big jump; Golden Eagles in ninth after two rounds
Senior Katherine Bell found the range Monday, shooting a team-best 76 to make a huge jump in the individual standings, but the Tennessee Tech women's golf team slipped one spot in the standings and heads into the final round Tuesday in ninth place at the Chris Banister Classic.

found the range Monday, shooting a team-best 76 to make a huge jump
in the individual standings, but the Tennessee Tech women's golf
team slipped one spot in the team standings and heads into the
final round Tuesday in ninth place at the Chris Banister Classic,
hosted at Silver Lake Golf Course by Jacksonville State.
Bell followed her first round 85 with the four-over 76, jumping to
28th place on the individual leaderboard after entering the day in
44th place. Freshman Megan
Williamson added an 85 Monday to her Sunday score of 82, and is
next for Tech in 40th place at 167. Madalyn Everts
sliced six shots off her opening 88 to card an 82 Monday, and is
tied for 45th place at 170.
Freshman Katya Hoffman,
Tech's first-round leader with an 81, shot a 90 on Monday to place
her in a tie for 48th at 171. Freshman Allison Geer added
an 89 Monday to her first-day 86, and is in 52nd place at 175.
Senior Amanda Randolph,
competing as an individual, slipped to a 96 Monday after a
first-day 87, and is in 58th place at 183.
Texas State strengthened its hold on the lead, following its
opening-round 298 with a blazing 292, and closed the day at 590 for
a 12-shot edge on Middle Tennessee State (602). Murray State (614)
is third, followed by Lamar (615), Jacksonville State (632),
Western Kentucky (645), Belmont (647), Lipscomb (657), Tech (666)
and Northern Kentucky (674).
