Golden Eagles capture title at inaugural Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate
SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. -- Madalyn Everts earned an all-tournament spot with a fourth-place individual finish, helping lead Tennessee Tech to the championship in the women's division of the first Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at the Sevierville Golf Course.

all-tournament spot with a fourth-place individual finish, helping
lead Tennessee Tech to the championship in the women's division of
the inaugural Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at the Sevierville Golf
Course.
Trailing Murray State by one stroke after the first round was
completed Tuesday morning, the Golden Eagles battled back to
overtake their Ohio Valley Conference rivals for the title. Tech
finished with rounds of 315 and 307 for a 36-hole team total 622.
Murray State was second, shooting 314 and 310 for a 624 finish.
Lee University (629) was third, followed by Newberry (632) and
Southern Illinois (634) in the top five. The 12-team final
standings also included Eastern Kentucky (636), Belmont (637),
Austin Peay (650), Presbyterian (660), Evansville (663), Northern
Kentucky (675) and Northern Iowa (679). Tennessee State also
competed, but didn't produce a team score when two individuals
withdrew.
Delany Howson of Murray State captured medalist honors with a
75-74--149, one stroke ahead of three players who joined her on the
all-tournament squad. They included Shaina Rennegarbe of Southern
Illinois, Courtney Shelton of Lee, and Everts of Tech.
In addition to Everts, Tech's championship effort included
Katherine Bell and Amber Shepherd, tied for seventh at 156, Megan
Williamson, tied for 23rd at 160, and Amanda Randolph, tied for
54th at 174. Freshman Allison Geer also competed individually and
tied for 23rd at 160.
