USI pulls ahead in third quarter to stall Tech women

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The first half was a battle as Tennessee Tech and Southern Indiana fought to a 34-34 draw at the intermission. The third quarter, however, was a different story. The host Screaming Eagles forced four Tech turnovers to create a 10-point run before the media timeout. By the time the stanza ended, USI had outscored Tech 25-10.

Panthers not the only opponent Saturday as Tech women set for ThinkPink / Play4Kay contest

As Tennessee Tech women’s basketball suits up for Saturday’s contest against Eastern Illinois, it won’t be in the traditional colors of Purple and Gold. Instead, with their minds on those in their lives affected by cancer as the team hosts its annual ThinkPink and Play4Kay game, the Panthers won’t be the only thing the Golden Eagles are looking to defeat. Tipoff from the Eblen Center is at 1 PM Saturday. Saturday’s game will honor those who have been affected by all forms of cancer, as every member of the Golden Eagle women’s basketball program will be playing, coaching or serving in honor of someone dear to them who has been impacted by the disease.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As Western Illinois comes into the Hooper Eblen Center on Thursday night, it’s the Fighting Leathernecks that have the target placed squarely on their backs as they currently reside in the top spot in the Ohio Valley Conference. And if Tennessee Tech can knock off WIU Thursday night, it will go a long way towards making the OVC race a lot more interesting.

MACOMB, Ill. – Tennessee Tech put up a fight Saturday at Western Illinois, but the high-powered offense of the host Leathernecks proved tough to handle as WIU claimed a 77-60 victory at Western Hall. Now, the Golden Eagles (10-5, 3-3 Ohio Valley Conference) return home with Southern Indiana looming on the horizon.

Tech women win 24th straight at home, soaring over Stars 92-53

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s one of those numbers that just kind of sneaks up on you. Tennessee Tech had played a lot of great competition in the Hooper Eblen Center, but as the calendar dates slipped across over the past two seasons, it wasn’t surprising that the Golden Eagles had put together an impressive stretch. With Tech’s 92-53 victory over Stephens College on Saturday, the win gave the Golden Eagles their 24th straight win on their home court, setting a new program standard. Tech’s last loss at the Hoop came on Feb. 3, 2024.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With nearly 6,000 screaming school children from across the Upper Cumberland, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team put on one heck of a show as the Golden Eagles pulled away for an 82-60 victory over the visiting Samford Bulldogs on Thursday. Officially, the announced attendance of 5,845 stands as fourth in the women’s basketball program’s top attendance list, just behind the last two Education Day contests. The Golden Eagles (6-2) definitely fed on the energy with two players collecting double-doubles and four in double-figure scoring.
