COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Following a break after the indoor season, the Tennessee Tech track and field team is back at it again, opening up the 2015 outdoor season at the Vanderbilt Black & Gold meet this Friday and Saturday.
We are very excited about the first meet," said head track and field coach Wayne Angel. "We are going to build on the momentum we started during the indoor season, with personal bests and things like that, and our goal is to get the athletes to a level that they can put themselves in position to score at the Ohio Valley Conference championship meet."
"We haven't lost too much conditioning from indoors and we are going to keep building on each meet. It's a process to grow from meet to meet, and hopefully by the time the OVC comes in Clarksville, that we are ready to do something."
The Golden Eagles will be competing against athletes from multiple different conferences, such as Southeastern Conference, Big 10, Atlantic Sun, A-10, Michigan Intercollegiate, Great Midwest, North Coast, as well as familiar OVC opponents.
On Friday, events for the Golden Eagles will begin at 4 p.m., and then will start again Saturday at 10 a.m.
