Skeen picks up second OVC Male Golfer of the Week honor of 2022-23
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – One day after being recognized as the Ohio Valley Conference's Male Golfer of the Month, Tennessee Tech's Jackson Skeen was again acknowledged for his play on the links Wednesday morning.

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – One day after being recognized as the Ohio Valley Conference's Male Golfer of the Month, Tennessee Tech's Jackson Skeen was again acknowledged for his play on the links Wednesday morning.
For the second time this season and the third time in his young career, the sophomore was honored as the OVC's Male Golfer of the Week, fresh off his top showing donning the purple and gold.
Skeen led a remarkable comeback for the Golden Eagles at the Georgia State Invitational, as the team overcame a nine-stroke deficit to tie for first place following the final round. Tech went on to capture its first tournament title since 2018-19, with Skeen securing the winning birdie putt in a one-hole playoff.
The reigning OVC Freshman of the Year claimed his first career medalist honor on the day as well, firing a 5-under 67 in the final round to secure a two-stroke victory among 87 golfers. He carded a 71-70-67=208, the second-best 54-hole score of his career.
On the year, Skeen has earned All-Tournament honors in all three of Tech's events. He claimed OVC Male Golfer of the Week following a third-place finish and career-low 205 at the Golfweek Fall Challenge to open the year.
Skeen currently leads the OVC in scoring average with an impressive mark of 69.22.
Next on the docket for the Golden Eagles is a trip to Maineville, Ohio and the Xavier Invitational at TPC River's Bend. The 54-hole event will run from Monday, Oct. 10 through Tuesday, Oct. 11.
