In Fall 2015 (Senior): Thomas participated in all six fall tournaments, racking up 17 rounds of action… notched two top-10 finishes… carded a season-low 74-70-67=211 at the GolfWeek Program Challenge (Sept. 6-8)… also tallied his season-low round of 67 at the same event… fired a 73-75=148 in the team’s only 36-hole event at the ASU Fall Beach Classic (Oct. 25-27)… tied for ninth at the Kenny Perry Invitational (Oct. 12-13), finishing at 73-74-74=221… wrapped up play at the Murray State Invitational (Sept. 21-22) tied for 10th place after carding a 73-73-73=219… wrapped up fall play with a scoring average of 73.24.
In Spring 2015 (Junior): Thomas played in all six spring events, totaling 16 rounds of action… fired a career-low 66-73-64=203 to finish second and help Tech to its first tournament championship since 2007 at the Big Blue Intercollegiate (Apr. 13-14)… his 18-hole score of 64 at the same tournament also marked a career-best mark and tied for the school’s single-round record, relative to par, at eight-under… the 54-hole score of 13-under represented the second-lowest total, relative to par, in program history behind Scott Stallings’ -16 set in 2005… earned All-Tournament honors in the final three events of the year, including the Red Wolvers Intercollegiate (Apr. 4-5), Big Blue Intercollegiate, and OVC All-Tournament honors at the OVC Championships (Apr. 24-26)… ran off four consecutive top 10 finishes to close out the year… recorded a career-low 36-hole score of 75-74=149 at the Grover Page Classic (Mar. 9-10)… took home team honors as the Best Putter… completed the year with a scoring average of 73.33.
In Fall 2014 (Junior): Thomas started in all five tournaments in the fall, completing 14 rounds of golf… carded a season-low 75-71-73=219 at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate (Oct. 20-21), tying for 25th overall… also finished with a low-18 round of 71 at the same event… collected a top 20 finish at the Kenny Perry Invitational (Oct. 13-14), tying for 19th overall with a final score of 72-74-77=223… wrapped up the fall with a 74.64 stroke average.
In Spring 2014 (Sophomore): Thomas finished his sophomore year at the top of the conference by earning All-OVC honors and the President’s Award from Tennessee Tech… named the Gilbert Darcy Most Valuable Player on the Golden Eagle squad… finished tied for eighth at the Grover Page Classic (Mar. 10-11) with a card of 76-69-72=217… nabbed another top 25 finish at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate (Mar. 17-18) by placing 21st… named Tech’s Best Putter and earned the Low Average award by finishing with a 73.25 over 32 rounds of play.
In Fall 2013 (Sophomore): Thomas continued to develop into a top golfer in the conference, playing in all five fall tournaments… earned top 15 finishes in four events, including a tie for second at the Bearcat Invitational (Oct. 7-8) where he carded a 68-71-72=211 at five under to earn All-Tournament recognition and OVC Male Golfer of the Week honors… nabbed another All-Tournament recognition at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate (Oct. 14-15) where he tied for fourth and scored a 71-69-71=211 at five under… finished the fall with the lowest average on the squad of 71.4.
In Spring 2013 (Freshman): Thomas made a splash at the ASU Red Wolves Intercollegiate (Mar. 1-2), carding a third-round 66, the lowest score of any Tech golfer since current PGA tour member Scott Stallings in 2006… the score finished tied for second-lowest in the OVC in 2012-13… his two-under, 77+71+66=214 earned him a seventh-place finish out of the 112 golfers in the field… followed that tournament up with a 75+74+69=218 at the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate (Apr. 15-16), tying for 30th… helped the Golden Eagles to a surprising third place finish at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship (April 25-27)… named the team's Best Putter and earned a share of the Impact Award with two teammates.
In Fall 2012 (Freshman): Thomas made an instant impact for the Golden Eagles, shooting a team-best 76.3 average in the fall… scored a season-low round of 70 in his first collegiate round at the Mason Rudolph Championship (Sept. 21-23)… tied for 31st at the Skyhawk Classic (Oct. 7-9), carding a 71+73+76=220.
High School: Thomas was a four-year letterwinner at Knoxville Farragut High School, where he played golf under former Golden Eagle Jonathan Cox… named as a three-time selection on the All-Prep Extra Team… was the 2011 Region 2 medalist… helped his team win four consecutive district and regional championships and the TSSAA State Championship in 2008 and 2009… also had a solid junior career, winning four tournaments and earning multiple top five finishes… qualified into the Tennessee State Amateur and State Junior championships… was an honors student in throughout his time at KFHS.
