Homecoming, other special events announced for 2009 Tech football

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (July 19, 2009) - Special events are scheduled
at each of Tennessee Tech’s five home football games in
Tucker Stadium during the 2009 season.
The in-town action for third-year TTU head coach Watson Brown and
his team starts Thursday night, Sept. 10, when the Golden Eagles
host Pikeville College in the home opener at 7 p.m.
That game will be Communiversity Night and First Tennessee Bank
Poster Night. The opener will also feature Military and Public
Safety Appreciation Night.
The second home game is Saturday, Oct. 3, against Austin Peay, and
it will feature Parent and Family Weekend, as well as the Football
Alumni Reunion.
Tech’s fourth annual night for Recognizing Academic
Excellence will be Saturday, Oct. 24, against Southeast Missouri,
highlighting Honor students from across the region.
The annual Homecoming game is Saturday, Oct. 31, against Tennessee
State, with Hall of Fame activities taking place Friday night and
Saturday.
The final home game is Saturday, Nov. 21, against Murray State
when Tech celebrates Senior Day.
“These are events that we feel enhance the atmosphere and
provide an exciting framework for the action on the field for coach
Brown and his team,” said Mark Wilson, TTU Director of
Athletics
"Many of these events have become familiar traditions for our
fans," Wilson said. "We hope to continue to build upon the
excitement and enthusiasm that have been generated over the past
few years under coach Brown. “Our staff will continue to
reach out to include groups, organizations, and every college
football fan in the area."
