Gathering of Eagles pushed back to Thursday, football scrimmage moved to Sunday
UPDATE 8/18/2018 9:15 a.m. -- As the forecast has not improved, Tech football has postponed its scheduled scrimmage to Sunday at 2 p.m. The event is open to the public. UPDATE 8/18/2018 7:30 a.m. -- With inclement weather in the area and the possibility of storms throughout the day, the Gathering of Eagles events have been postponed until Thursday before Tech football's third and final scrimmage. The scheduled scrimmage will still be held today at 1:30 p.m. The scheduled events may change for Thursday, but updates will be provided here as well as on Twitter and Tech Athletics' Facebook page.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As fall camp continues for Tennessee Tech's teams, there are an assortment of special events this weekend as the annual Gathering of Eagles is held on Saturday.
The day starts with the Kids' Football and Cheer Clinics in Tucker Stadium. Kids will learn the basics from Tech's coaches, football players and cheerleaders during this fun event. Registration starts at 10 a.m., with the clinics starting at 10:15 a.m.
Also starting at 10:30 a.m. is a surplus sale. Jerseys will be on sale for $20 each, while other apparel will be available for $5. The sale will run until 2 p.m.
Following the conclusion of the clinics, there will be an autograph session as fans can get a chance to meet the Golden Eagle players and get autographs. Hot dogs and Pepsi products will also be served during the event, while games and inflatables will be inside the stadium.
That afternoon, at 1:30 p.m., the Tech football team will return to the field for its second scrimmage of the camp schedule, another tuneup before opening the season on Aug. 30 at Chattanooga.
All the above events are free to the public.
