Golden Eagles head to Clarksville for OVC Cross Country Championships on Monday
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech cross country teams are set to wrap up the 2020-21 season, traveling to Clarksville for the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships on Monday, Mar. 1.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech cross country teams are set to wrap up the 2020-21 season, traveling to Clarksville for the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Championships on Monday, Mar. 1.
The Golden Eagle women will compete against the other 11 programs in the league in the 5K, with the race set to commence at 12:00 p.m. CT at Weakley Park. The Tech men will follow with shortly after the conclusion of the first race, attacking the 8K at 12:45 p.m.
Three different Golden Eagles have led the Tech men in events this season, with Ababu Mohamed kicking off the year as the top Tech finisher at the Belmont Opener in January. Redshirt sophomore Dennis Kipkorir took his turn at the top of the Tech leaderboard at the Seminole Invitational on Feb. 5 while freshman Chase Faudi paced the Golden Eagles in their home event.
On the women's side, rookie Amanda Laboy has turned in a remarkable start to her career, leading the purple and gold in two of its three meets on the year. She took home to the top spot at the Belmont Opener, was the second Golden Eagle across the finish line at the Seminole Invitational and returned to the top in the Golden Eagle Opener. Junior transfer Tina Cesnik was the top performer at the Seminole Invitational.
The Field
The OVC Cross Country Championships field consists of Austin Peay, Belmont, Eastern Illinois, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Murray State, Southeast Missouri, SIUE, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech and UT Martin.
