Bradford named OVC Golfer of the Week
Tech senior Megan Bradford was named Wednesday as the OVC Female Golfer of the Week, following her medalist performance Monday and Tuesday at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- Beating the field and capturing her first career medalist honor has earned Tennessee Tech senior Megan Bradford the honor of Ohio Valley Conference Female Golfer of the Week.
Bradford captured top honors at the F&M Bank APSU
Intercollegiate in Clarksville on Tuesday. The senior from Jackson,
Tenn., had a round of 78 (+6) during the opening round but followed
that with an even par round of 72 on Tuesday to finish at 150 (+6)
and capture the title by two strokes.
Her performance helped the Golden Eagles to a fourth place finish
out of 17 teams. The field featured seven of the eight OVC women's
teams who will compete for the OVC Championship this year. In eight
rounds this fall, Bradford has a 76.9 stroke average, sixth best in
the Conference.
A year ago, Bradford finished in second place three times and once
in third while posting the low average on the team of 77.2.
Bradford was a first-team all-OVC selection in 2008-09 and earned
all-tournament honors at the OVC Championships after finishing
second. She finished the year with all-tournament honors at the
Draper Valley Invitational, Murray State Invitational, Kennesaw
State Invitational and the OVC Championships.
Bradford and the Golden Eagles take the coming weekend off before
wrapping up the fall portion of their schedule Nov. 2-4 at the UAB
Beach Blast in Daytona, Fla.
