COVID protocols force cancelation of Tech women's Sunday game at UAB
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --The start for the 2020-21 campaign for the Tennessee Tech women’s team will have to wait for another day as Sunday’s game scheduled against UAB has been canceled. COVID protocols have resulted in Tennessee Tech not having the requisite number of student-athletes available for this contest. “Coming into this season, we knew this could be a possibility,” said Tech Director of Athletics Mark Wilson. “Unfortunately, at this time, the team has fallen below the threshold acceptable for COVID protocols and will not be able to participate in this game.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --The start for the 2020-21 campaign for the Tennessee Tech women's team will have to wait for another day as Sunday's game scheduled against UAB has been canceled. COVID protocols have resulted in Tennessee Tech not having the requisite number of student-athletes available for this contest.
"Coming into this season, we knew this could be a possibility," said Tech Director of Athletics Mark Wilson. "Unfortunately, at this time, the team has fallen below the threshold acceptable for COVID protocols and will not be able to participate in this game.
"We have stressed to our entire Athletics family that flexibility is key at this time and the schedule can change very quickly, but we are determined to do everything we can for the safety and well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, fans and staff during this time."
It will be the third game canceled for the Tech women after Vanderbilt and Chattanooga's protocols forced the elimination of those contests.
