COOKEVILLE -- Students interested in cheer and dance can learn from some of the best as the Tennessee Tech cheer and dance squads will host their 2026 Spring Clinic at the Hooper Eblen Center on March 29.
The clinic provides future Golden Eagles to take the next step toward collegiate athletics and offers an inside look at what it takes to represent the university.
Throughout the clinic, athletes will participate in hands-on instruction that focuses on technique, performance quality, and game-day presence. Cheer participants will work on stunting fundamentals, tumbling, motions, and crowd-leading skills, while dance participants will focus on turns, leaps, technique drills, and choreography commonly performed at football and basketball games.
In addition to skill development, the recruitment clinic allows athletes to experience the culture and energy of Tennessee Tech's spirit program. Coaches will evaluate participants and offer feedback to help them understand how to prepare for collegiate tryouts and future opportunities.
The Tennessee Tech cheer team recently earned a sixth-place finish in national competition, improving an impressive run on the national stage with back-to-back fourth-place finishes. The Golden Eagle dance team has consistently been among the top programs in the nation, placing eighth in national competition in 2018.
The dance portion of the clinic will run from 1 PM to 3 PM with a 12:30 PM-1 PM check-in. The cheer portion will run from 4 PM to 6 PM with a 3:30 PM to 4 PM check-in.
The cost is $60 per participant and is open to grades 7 through 12.
Please remember to bring water, wear appropriate shoes and athletic gear in TTU colors. All participants must bring a printed and signed waiver along with a copy of your insurance card.
Please note that this is a closed clinic -- open only to those attending. Parents/guardians/friends/family cannot stay to observe.
The Tennessee Tech Cheer & Dance Recruitment Clinic is more than just a training session—it's an opportunity to grow as an athlete, gain exposure to college-level expectations, and begin the journey toward becoming part of the Tennessee Tech spirit family.
Spots for the clinic are limited, and interested athletes are encouraged to register early.
