2024 (Freshman): Saw action in 10 games as a positional player/batter and 13 appearances in the circle, including six starts ... as a pitcher, Rush recorded a 7.81 earned run average with a 1-3 record, collecting a complete game and a shutout ... across 26 innings of work, she allowed 44 hits and 39 runs -- 29 earned ... collected 20 strikeouts ... opponents hit .364 against her ... at the plate, Rush had a .235 batting average with four hits -- including two home runs ... drove in six runs and scored four times ... recorded six assists fielding for a 1.000 fielding percentage ... homered against Rhode Island (3/12/24) and Western Illinois (3/16/24) ... had three games with two RBI -- Indiana State (2/24/24), Rhode Island (3/12/24) and Western Illinois (3/16/24) ... struck out five against Norfolk State (2/10/24).

HIGH SCHOOL: Rush has played four seasons for Eagles Landing Christian in McDonough, Ga., and comes in highly decorated, receiving four first-team all-region honors, two Area Pitcher of the Year honors, a GACA Junior and Senior All-Star nod, as well as a second-team All-State pick in 2020 and two first-team All-State selections in 2021 and 2022. Her numbers certainly back it up – in her prep career, she has thrown over 900 strikeouts with 77 victories, while also hitting well with a .480 batting average, a .600 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage. In her senior campaign, she batted .613 with 13 home runs and 35 RBI, complete with a .723 on-base percentage. In the circle, she hurled her way to a 1.40 ERA and 250 strikeouts as she was named the Area 5 Player of the Year and leading her team to a region championship and an Elite Eight spot in the state tournament. Her team also reached the Elite Eight in 2019, the Sweet 16 in 2020 and finished third in 2021.

PERSONAL: Rush's softball skills run in the family as her sister – Hope Rush-Songalia – played four seasons at Georgia Tech between 2010 and 2013 and earned All-America honors, while her father – Bo Rush – was also her prep coach.

CLUB EXPERIENCE: Rush also played club softball with GA Power Tuñón.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri took advantage of a five-run inning in game one, but the Tennessee Tech softball team held the Redhawks scoreless for eight innings in game two before SEMO walked off the second contest to take both games in Friday’s doubleheader. The Golden Eagles (16-32, 11-15 Ohio Valley Conference) will close out the regular season on Saturday with a final game against the Redhawks. With a win Saturday, Tech will hold on to the No. 6 seed in next week’s OVC Softball Championships in Peoria. If Tech loses and Southern Indiana defeats UT Martin Saturday, the Golden Eagles will slip to seventh, but can not finish any lower.

The Golden Eagles (16-30, 11-13 OVC) take on Southeast Missouri on Friday and Saturday to close out the regular season. As it stands before the series’ first pitch, Tech is sixth in the conference standings, roughly two games behind the Redhawks (17-28, 13-10 OVC) with one fewer game played.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech honored its nine seniors following its games Sunday against UT Martin to close out the 2026 home slate, but two tough outings led to the Skyhawks sweeping the twinbill as UTM rallied with eight runs in the sixth inning of game one to top Tech 10-6, then UTM took game two 7-0. The Golden Eagles (16-31, 11-13 OVC) return to action this weekend as they close out the regular season at Southeast Missouri. Tech falls into sixth place in the OVC standings entering the final week, still within reach of avoiding a first-round elimination game at three games back.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – In between two lightning delays for nearly three-and-a-half hours, the Tennessee Tech softball team battled back and forth with UT Martin on Saturday, but the Skyhawks claimed the lead in the top of the sixth and didn’t relinquish it, taking a 7-5 victory in the series opener. With the delays, Saturday’s scheduled second game now becomes game one of a Senior Day doubleheader on Sunday, starting at noon. Both games will be broadcasted on ESPN+ (subscription required) with Dylan Vazzano on the call. The Senior Day presentation will follow the second game.

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois strung its bats together at just the right time as the host Panthers collected 22 total hits on Tennessee Tech Saturday to take both ends of the conference doubleheader, beating the Golden Eagles 7-3 in the opener and in a 6-0 shutout in the nightcap. Tech (15-26, 11-9 Ohio Valley Conference) picked up five hits in each game, but was held to three runs on the day as Jailynn Paderez, Ashley Capelouto and Ella Bishop collected the team’s RBI in the double-dip. No player had a multi-hit game in game one, while Abbee Klinefelter went 2-for-3 in game two for the lone multi-hit producer on the day.

CHARLESTON, Ill. – The Tennessee Tech softball team has been playing much stronger in the Ohio Valley Conference this season, but the Golden Eagles will get tested this weekend as Tech heads north to take on conference leader Eastern Illinois in a three-game set on Saturday and Sunday. Presently, the series is still on the slate as a doubleheader Saturday, starting at noon with a single game Sunday at noon. MACOMB, Ill. – It was a home run derby in Macomb on Saturday, but the Tennessee Tech softball team found itself on the short end as Western Illinois took both ends of the doubleheader, ending the Golden Eagles’ nine-game Ohio Valley Conference winning streak. The Leathernecks took game one 7-6, then topped Tech 9-6 – both in come-from-behind fashion. The Golden Eagles (12-21, 9-5 OVC) led game one 6-4 in the sixth, then 6-3 in the sixth in game two only to see victory snatched from their talons.

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Tennessee Tech’s offense continued to shine on Sunday as the Golden Eagles completed their third straight Ohio Valley Conference sweep and their ninth conference win in a row as Tech topped Morehead State 10-3 and 7-3 at University Field. With the victories, the Golden Eagles (12-19, 9-3 OVC) move into a tie for second place in the conference with five conference weekends remaining before the conference tournament in Peoria, Ill.

Erin Nuwer improved her record to 12-1 on the season as she no-hit the Golden Eagles, walking one and striking out three. Tech had two base runners in all as Olivia Evans was hit by a pitch and Abbee Klinefelter reached on a walk.

Saturday, it was Makayli Harris’ turn as the Golden Eagle senior went yard twice in game two against Lindenwood – the second breaking a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning – as Tech defeated the Lions twice. The Golden Eagles (8-18, 5-3 Ohio Valley Conference) took the first game 5-0 as Addison Abell took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. She improved to 2-2 on the season in the complete game effort, yielding the lone hit to Anna Sanders, the leadoff batter in the top of the seventh. Abell walked two and struck out one.
