2024 (Sophomore): Played in 37 games with 34 starts ... batted .309 with 34 total hits, including nine doubles and a triple ... drove in 17 runs while coming home to score 10 times ... was 2-for-3 on stolen bases ... drew 11 walks and one hit-by-pitch to five strikeouts ... had a four-hit game against Rhode Island (3/12/24) ... had two games with five total bases -- SIUE (4/27/24) and Rhode Island (3/12/24) ... had three games with two RBI -- Tennessee State (5/5/24), SIUE (4/27/24) and Morehead State (3/24/24) ... scored twice in game at Western Illinois (3/16/24).

PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Carroll, who comes to Cookeville after a season at Seattle, played outfielder and saw action in eight games as a pinch runner in 2022, scoring seven runs. With the loss, coupled with a 6-1 Southern Indiana win over UT Martin, the Golden Eagles and the Screaming Eagles tied for sixth place in the overall standings. USI earned the tiebreaker by beating Tech twice in three meetings in Cookeville this season, putting the Golden Eagles as the No. 7 seed.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri took advantage of a five-run inning in game one, but the Tennessee Tech softball team held the Redhawks scoreless for eight innings in game two before SEMO walked off the second contest to take both games in Friday’s doubleheader. The Golden Eagles (16-32, 11-15 Ohio Valley Conference) will close out the regular season on Saturday with a final game against the Redhawks. With a win Saturday, Tech will hold on to the No. 6 seed in next week’s OVC Softball Championships in Peoria. If Tech loses and Southern Indiana defeats UT Martin Saturday, the Golden Eagles will slip to seventh, but can not finish any lower.

The Leathernecks took game one 7-6, then topped Tech 9-6 – both in come-from-behind fashion. Saturday, it was Makayli Harris’ turn as the Golden Eagle senior went yard twice in game two against Lindenwood – the second breaking a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning – as Tech defeated the Lions twice. The Golden Eagles (8-18, 5-3 Ohio Valley Conference) took the first game 5-0 as Addison Abell took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. She improved to 2-2 on the season in the complete game effort, yielding the lone hit to Anna Sanders, the leadoff batter in the top of the seventh. Abell walked two and struck out one.

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Tech came out with authority on Sunday as the Golden Eagles made quick work of their suspended contest from Saturday, scoring three runs in the extra inning to take an 11-8 victory, then blasted the Tigers 14-1 in five innings in the finale to take the series sweep. Ashley Capelouto capped off a tremendous week as she went 2-for-3 in the finale with a grand slam. She finished the week batting .538 with eight runs scored, four home runs and 13 total RBI, making her a potential candidate for OVC Player of the Week.

Capelouto’s six RBI stands one short of tying the program single-game record of seven, held by Callie Schmidt (vs. Eastern Kentucky 4/13/2011) and TTU Sports Hall of Famer Beth Boden (twice, vs. Samford 4/20/2008, vs. UMass 3/8/2007). She had a grand slam in the fourth inning, then hit a two-run blast in the fifth inning, going 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored.

STATESBORO, Ga. – For a long time, Tennessee Tech and Eastern Kentucky were rivals on the softball field in the Ohio Valley Conference.
