2024 (Sophomore): Played and started in 39 games ... posted a .246 batting average with 29 hits -- including a double and a triple ... drove in six runs and came home 16 times ... was 2-for-3 on stolen bases ... had a two-RBI game at Western Illinois (3/16/24) ... had three total bases twice last season at Eastern Illinois (4/20/24) and at Western Illinois (3/16/24) ... had two three-hit games against EIU and WIU.

2023 (Freshman): Played and started in 42 games ... recorded a .219 batting average with 23 hits ... drove in eight and came home to score 14 times ... was 1-for-1 on stolen bases ... drove in two runs vs. Bowling Green on March 4 and on May 6 in the back end of a doubleheader at Southern Indiana on May 6 ... had two multi-hit games.

HIGH SCHOOL: Bishop had an excellent junior campaign in 2021, hitting .439 with a .491 on-base percentage and .776 slugging mark, earning MVP, all-district and all-county honors, helping Beech earn a district runner-up spot. She improved on her numbers in 2022, batting .553 with a .583 on-base percentage and an .850 slugging percentage. She had six home runs in her final prep campaign as she was named County Player of the Year and district co-MVP and was named to the All-Midstate team. 

CLUB: Bishop competed on the club level for Tennessee Mojo.

PEORIA, Ill. – With heavy hearts, Tennessee Tech softball walked off the field for the last time on Wednesday. Despite a tough battle with No. 6 Southern Indiana, the No. 7-seeded Golden Eagles endured. Neither team had the upper hand – that was until the sixth inning.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri took advantage of a five-run inning in game one, but the Tennessee Tech softball team held the Redhawks scoreless for eight innings in game two before SEMO walked off the second contest to take both games in Friday’s doubleheader. The Golden Eagles (16-32, 11-15 Ohio Valley Conference) will close out the regular season on Saturday with a final game against the Redhawks. With a win Saturday, Tech will hold on to the No. 6 seed in next week’s OVC Softball Championships in Peoria. If Tech loses and Southern Indiana defeats UT Martin Saturday, the Golden Eagles will slip to seventh, but can not finish any lower.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech honored its nine seniors following its games Sunday against UT Martin to close out the 2026 home slate, but two tough outings led to the Skyhawks sweeping the twinbill as UTM rallied with eight runs in the sixth inning of game one to top Tech 10-6, then UTM took game two 7-0. The Golden Eagles (16-31, 11-13 OVC) return to action this weekend as they close out the regular season at Southeast Missouri. Tech falls into sixth place in the OVC standings entering the final week, still within reach of avoiding a first-round elimination game at three games back.

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois strung its bats together at just the right time as the host Panthers collected 22 total hits on Tennessee Tech Saturday to take both ends of the conference doubleheader, beating the Golden Eagles 7-3 in the opener and in a 6-0 shutout in the nightcap. Tech (15-26, 11-9 Ohio Valley Conference) picked up five hits in each game, but was held to three runs on the day as Jailynn Paderez, Ashley Capelouto and Ella Bishop collected the team’s RBI in the double-dip. No player had a multi-hit game in game one, while Abbee Klinefelter went 2-for-3 in game two for the lone multi-hit producer on the day.

The Golden Eagles (13-21, 10-5 Ohio Valley Conference) saw Jailynn Paderez drive in four runs as she was 2-for-3 from the plate, while Sofia Carroll went 4-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored and Olivia Evans went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.

MACOMB, Ill. – It was a home run derby in Macomb on Saturday, but the Tennessee Tech softball team found itself on the short end as Western Illinois took both ends of the doubleheader, ending the Golden Eagles’ nine-game Ohio Valley Conference winning streak. The Leathernecks took game one 7-6, then topped Tech 9-6 – both in come-from-behind fashion. The Golden Eagles (12-21, 9-5 OVC) led game one 6-4 in the sixth, then 6-3 in the sixth in game two only to see victory snatched from their talons.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech made it a clean sweep on Sunday as Addison Abell and Emily York one-hit the Lions for the second straight day and the bats exploded for an 8-0, five-inning walkoff victory. Abell (3-2) threw the first 3 2/3 innings to stay in line for the win, walking four and striking out one among her 15 batters faced. York (1 Sv) came on in relief to claim her first save of the season, entering when it was still a 1-0 contest. She pitched the final inning and a third, yielding the lone hit to Madisen Noll in the fifth.

Saturday, it was Makayli Harris’ turn as the Golden Eagle senior went yard twice in game two against Lindenwood – the second breaking a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning – as Tech defeated the Lions twice. The Golden Eagles (8-18, 5-3 Ohio Valley Conference) took the first game 5-0 as Addison Abell took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. She improved to 2-2 on the season in the complete game effort, yielding the lone hit to Anna Sanders, the leadoff batter in the top of the seventh. Abell walked two and struck out one.

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Tech will have to wait until Sunday morning to conclude its doubleheader against Tennessee State as Saturday’s second game was called for darkness as the game went to extra innings, tied at 8-all. Tech won the first game 10-2 in six innings on Saturday.

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – It was bombs away for the Tennessee Tech softball team on Tuesday as the Golden Eagles hit three home runs and second baseman Ashley Capelouto struck for six RBI to put together a 12-0, five-inning victory over future Southern Conference foe East Tennessee State. Capelouto’s six RBI stands one short of tying the program single-game record of seven, held by Callie Schmidt (vs. Eastern Kentucky 4/13/2011) and TTU Sports Hall of Famer Beth Boden (twice, vs. Samford 4/20/2008, vs. UMass 3/8/2007). She had a grand slam in the fourth inning, then hit a two-run blast in the fifth inning, going 2-for-3 at the plate with three runs scored.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Tennessee Tech softball team closed out the pre-conference slate on Sunday with the final day of the UNF-JU Classic as the Golden Eagles were able to stall North Florida early, but the Ospreys struck in the middle innings to take a 7-1 victory. The Golden Eagles (2-14) picked up their lone run in the top of the seventh to avoid the shutout as Ella Bishop’s single to right center – coupled with a throwing error at second – allowed Skylar Gooden to come home to score the unearned run.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Tennessee Tech will head down to Jacksonville for a unique event this weekend as the Golden Eagles will face North Florida for a doubleheader on Thursday, Jacksonville University for a twinbill on Saturday, then wrap up Sunday with another single game against the Ospreys. Tech’s competing in the UNF-JU Classic as both teams will take on the Golden Eagles and DePaul in the four-team round robin. With anticipated weather in Jacksonville, Tech’s games against UNF has already been moved to Thursday afternoon with a Noon Central first pitch with the second game following approximately 30 minutes after.

Tech (1-7) will take on Rhode Island at 9 AM Friday, then the host Eagles at 2 PM. Saturday will see the Golden Eagles take on former Ohio Valley Conference foe Eastern Kentucky at 9 AM, then a repeat game against Rhode Island at 4:30 PM.
