Spring 2019 (Freshman): Puryear took part in three of Tech’s six spring events, racking up nine rounds of action… made his collegiate debut by posting an 80-75-75=230 at The Grover Page Classic (Mar. 11-12)… also gathered his highest finish of the year at the same event, tying for 19th… posted a season-low 219 behind his best round of the year, a 72 in the first round of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate (Mar. 17-19)… racked up a scoring average of 75.00 in his first season.
Fall 2018 (Freshman): Puryear did not participate in any tournaments during the fall season.
High School: Puryear lettered for four years at Walker Valley High School in Cleveland, Tenn. under head coach Bob Williams… claimed individual titles as an individual at both the district and region championships as a senior… led Walker Valley to district and region titles in 2016, 2017 and 2018… as a senior, helped WVHS to a third-place finish at the state tournament… during his junior season, won the 2016 Egwani Farms Junior Invitational individual championship.
