COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After a week away from the links, the Tennessee Tech men's golf team is back in action this week as the Golden Eagles make the short trek north to Bowling Green, Ky. for Western Kentucky's Kenny Perry Invitational.
KENNY PERRY INVITATIONAL: 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 7,200-yard The Club at Olde Stone in Bowling Green, Ky. Teams will start Monday with tee times at 7:30 a.m. CT and on Tuesday with tee times at 8 a.m.
THE COMPETITION: The 12-team field consists of host Western Kentucky, Belmont, Cleveland State, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Gulf Coast, Fort Wayne, Jacksonville State, Kentucky, Mercer, Southern Miss, Samford and Tennessee Tech.
THOUGHTS FROM COACH BROWN: "Olde Stone is an amazing golf course that has seemingly set up well for us in the past. We had a good bit of success there last year, and we will look to continue that this upcoming week. This will be our third different lineup in as many events, so we are still trying to figure out what group gives us the best chance to compete. We are excited to get up to Bowling Green and play in such a wonderful event."
WHAT TO WATCH FOR: In the team's third event of the fall, redshirt freshman Landon Albert will make his collegiate debut, marking the fourth different Golden Eagle to do so in 2016-17. He will be joined by fellow rookie Dabney Dickenson, who makes his third appearance of the year. Back in the lineup after missing the second tournament of the year, is last year's freshman leader, Matthew Giles, who fired a 217 at Olde Stone last season, tying for second place overall.
