2018-19 (Freshman): Sherfield played in all 31 contests as a true freshman, making three starts and averaging 16.4 minutes per game… averaged 4.9 points and 2.5 rebounds while ranking third on the team with 34 steals… also totaled 33 assists… shot 75.6 percent from the charity stripe… scored in double figures five times on the year, including each of the last four games of the season… dropped a career-high 20 points with a 4-for-5 showing from 3-point range and 7-for-9 performance from the field against Morehead State (Feb. 23)… also made his first collegiate start in the contest and grabbed seven boards… recorded his first career points in the season-opener at Memphis (Nov. 6)… posted his first career double-double with 11 points and a season-high 12 rebounds against Warren Wilson (Dec. 6)… scored 19 points and snagged eight boards against Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 21)… totaled four steals three times on the year, including the season opener at Memphis and the season finale at Eastern Illinois (Mar. 2)… joined fellow rookies Jr. Clay and Hunter Vick to represent the program’s first freshman class to have three players with 20 points in at least one game… became the first Tech rookie with four steals in his collegiate debut in over 20 years… was 10-of-13 from the free-throw line in the final four minutes and overtime of games on the year… ranked third on the team with 13 dunks.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's basketball team rounds out its 2019-20 regular season with the most important contest of the year Saturday evening, a match-up at Jacksonville State with a berth into the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament hanging in the balance. Simply put, if the Golden Eagles defeat the Gamecocks in the 7:00 p.m. CT tilt, they will earn a trip to Evansville, Ind. and the league's postseason event next week. A loss will end the postseason hopes of Tech and first-year head coach John Pelphrey.
