2016-17 (Sophomore – Eastern Florida State College): Duran competed in 34 games, making nine starts and averaging 19.5 minutes… averaged 9.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game… shot 52.7 percent from the floor while knocking down 37.7 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc and 66.2 percent from the charity stripe… recorded a career-high 27 points at Indian River State College (Feb. 15)… posted 26 points while hitting 8-of-10 free throws against Indian River State College (Feb. 1)… corralled a season-best 11 rebounds against Northwest Florida State College (Dec. 11)… totaled 16 double-digit scoring efforts on the year.

2015-16 (Freshman – Eastern Florida State College): Duran played in 32 games, making 20 starts and averaging 17.8 minutes… averaged 5.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game… shot 50.0 percent from the field… managed 55 assists to just 52 turnovers for a 1.1 ratio… scored a season-high 19 points on 7-for-10 shooting at Broward College (Jan. 25)… snatched a whopping total of 18 rebounds in a blowout victory over Red Devil Academy (Nov. 4)… also scored 12 points to post his first career double-double… recorded four steals against USC Salkehatchie (Oct. 30)… scored in double figures six times and hauled in double-digit rebounds twice.

High School: Duran played his senior season at Hamilton Heights High School for head coach Zach Ferrell… in 32 games, averaged 9.9 points and 6.3 rebounds… recorded five double-doubles on the year… scored a season-high 21 points against Lighthouse Christian HS (Feb. 14)… snagged a season-best 12 rebounds against Brainerd HS (Jan. 22) and at Oak Hill HS (Feb. 9)… shot an impressive 86.2 percent from the charity stripe… posted 31 steals and 17 blocks.  

Personal: Son of Juana Teresa Duran… born April 8, 1996… full name is Cristain Joan Duran… born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic… mother, Juana, was a member of the D.R. women’s national team… originally committed to Middle Tennessee out of high school and to Chattanooga following his time at EFSJC… was a member of the D.R.’s U-18 national team, which finished third at the U-18 Americas championships in June of 2014… competed with the U-19 national team at the FIBA U-19 world championships in 2015.
