Golden Eagles start road stretch with Tuesday game at Florida State
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The most difficult week of the year so far
is on the docket for the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, who face
road games Tuesday at 9-1 Florida State and Saturday at 6-3
Vanderbilt.
Off to a 6-2 start, Tech comes off a six-game homestand with a
contest Tuesday night against the streaking Seminoles, with tipoff
at 6:06 p.m. CST.
Tech earned its sixth win of the season Sunday in convincing
fashion, getting contributions from all 13 players in an 87-40
victory over Union College.
Florida State, meanwhile, posted its ninth win of the season with a
62-57 decision at Georgia State. The Seminoles are 4-0 at home this
season, and have won 36 consecutive home games.
Tech and Florida State have not met since Dec. 2, 1957, when FSU
earned a 74-71 victory.
The Golden Eagles are 3-12 all-time against teams from the Atlantic
Coast Conference, including an 83-63 loss at Georgia Tech last
December.
After the game at FSU, Tech visits Vanderbilt Saturday for a 5 p.m.
game that will be televised by CSS. The Golden Eagles take a few
days off for Christmas, then wrap up 2008 with a game at
Louisiana-Monroe on Dec. 29.
The game at Florida State can be heard on the Golden Eagle Sports
Network, and via free Teamline on either the telephone or the
Internet.
