Fall 2021: Washington played in all 11 games and finished the season fourth on the team in tackles with 41 total stops -- 31 solo and 10 assisted -- while also collecting one for-loss ... also had eight pass breakups ... made a new career-high eight stops against Eastern Illinois (9/25/21) ... had three pass breakups against Southeast Missouri (10/2/21).

Spring 2021: Washington played in all seven games of the 2020-21 season ... recorded 12 total tackles -- nine solo and five assisted ... has a career-high five tackles at Jacksonville State (2/28/21)

HIGH SCHOOL: Washington helped slow down opposing offenses in the secondary as he picked off 14 career passes, including four in his senior campaign. In his senior campaign, Washington had 50 total tackles, while collecting 123 on his career. He also ended with three career sacks, as well as five fumble recoveries and a fumble forced. A three-year starter, Washington was also selected first-team all-region as a junior and senior after a second-team pick as a sophomore.

Golden Eagles hold off North Alabama

FLORENCE, Ala. – Tennessee Tech scored five touchdowns in its eight drives. North Alabama scored five times, too – but it was three touchdowns and two field goals as the Golden Eagle defense came up with four big stops in their own territory to secure a 35-27 victory over the Lions on Saturday. The biggest stop may have been with 6:49 left in the contest. With the Golden Eagles leading 35-24, North Alabama (1-9) marched up the field on 18 plays and got to the Tech 10-yard-line before the Lions were held to 4th-and-goal. Sam Contorno hit the 27-yard field goal for what was eventually the final margin of the contest.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Fans had their opportunity to get a look at the Tennessee Tech football team on Saturday night as the Golden Eagles held their annual Gathering of Eagles fan event. Despite some mid-afternoon storms, the day started with the women’s clinic, then fans had an opportunity to grab autographs from their favorite Golden Eagle players before Tech took to the field for its final scrimmage before the season begins on September 2.
