Fall 2021: Played in eight games ... recorded 13 solo tackles and five assists for 18 total tackles ... had two pass breakups ... recovered one fumble for 35 yards ... had a season-high six tackles at Samford (9/2/21) ... recovered the fumble at Tennessee (9/18/21)
 
Spring 2021: Started all seven games in the spring 2021 season ... recorded 23 total tackles -- 14 solo and nine assisted -- averaging 3.3 tackles per game ... had two tackles-for-loss for six yards ... broke up seven passes ... recorded a career-high eight tackles at UT Martin (4/11/21).

He was named first-team all-region as a junior and senior. In track and field, he also won a Georgia state championship in the triple jump and was the Georgia high school track and field athlete of the year this past spring.

Defense stands tall as Golden Eagles rally to top Eastern Illinois

CHARLESTON, Ill. – When Eastern Illinois blocked Hayden Olsen’s field goal and returned it for a touchdown as time expired in the first half, a casual observer would probably think the Panthers would use that to build momentum. Instead, it was Tennessee Tech that built on that miscue, answering with 17 unanswered points to break their five-game losing streak with a 20-17 victory over the Panthers on Saturday at O’Brien Field. Tech (2-6, 1-3 Ohio Valley Conference) shut down the Panthers in the second half, ending its two-game turnover-forced drought with two big fumble recoveries – one leading to a score, the other giving the Golden Eagles the opportunity to go into victory formation as EIU was marching to give kicker Stone Galloway a chance to knot the game up. That never happened.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Every time Tennessee Tech faces Samford at Tucker Stadium, it tends to be a shootout. Across 12 meetings in Cookeville, the Golden Eagles have scored 362 points to Samford’s 288, leading to an average score of Tech 30, Samford 24. Of course, those numbers are bolstered by the last two meetings in Tucker Stadium – a 59-52 victory by the Bulldogs in their final season in the Ohio Valley Conference in 2007, then the thrilling 59-58 double-overtime victory by the Golden Eagles in 2019. So when Tech and Samford square off on Saturday night, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the scoreboard lighting up like a Christmas tree.

Golden Eagles make strides in opener at Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The first game is in the books, and while the Tennessee Tech squad saw a tough contest against their annual Football Bowl Subdivision opponent, the Golden Eagles still saw some signs of optimism against the Kansas Jayhawks on Friday night. Kansas took the victory 56-10, scoring four touchdowns in its first five possessions. Still, Tech was able to stall the Jayhawks on the Golden Eagle 2-yard line and force a turnover on downs on the goal-line stand. Kansas (1-0) also missed a field goal on its first possession of the second half.
