HIGH SCHOOL: A two-way player for Coach Tony Lambert at Oneida, Barnhart played both linebacker and tight end ... as a senior, Barnhart recorded 135 tackles with four TFL and one interception, while also catching 10 passes for 63 yards with a touchdown and a two-point conversion, while also rushing for another score ... ended his prep career with 238 total tackles ... was named to both the Tennessee Football Coaches Association and Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State first-team rosters and a selection to the 2019 East vs. West All-Star Game ... in 2018, he was on the Region 2-2A first team and third-team All-5-Star Preps ... in 2019, was named the Region 2-2A Defensive MVP and named to the 5-Star Preps second-team roster ... helped Oneida claim second-place region finishes in 2018 and 2019, and a state quarterfinal appearance in 2019.

Tech football opens 2020-21 season Sunday vs. Austin Peay

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s been a long wait for football season to arrive. Heck, the last game was in the previous decade. But on Sunday, football is back at Tucker Stadium, ending a nearly 15-month drought of gridiron action, as Tennessee Tech plays host to Austin Peay. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Roger Ealey will provide the radio call for 98.5 KISS FM, while Dylan Vazzano and Sam Brooks handle broadcast duties for ESPN+ (subscription required).
