Bio

HIGH SCHOOL: Leifheit was a standout tight end and defensive tackle for head coach Daniel Watson at Blackman High School, winning a district championship with the Blaze in 2014. He was named the Region 6-AAA co-lineman MVP, a Class 6A all-state pick and an Tennessee East-West All-Star. He was a team captain for Blackman and was named to the Daily News Journal’s All-Area Team.

PERSONAL: The son of Scott and Connie Leifheit…born on October 27, 1997…full name is Matthew Scott Leifheit…brother Brandon played football at the University of Tennessee from 2008 to 2009.

ACADEMIC: Intends to study biology with an interest in becoming an orthopedic surgeon.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – When Tennessee Tech last had a field goal kicker set the school record for field goal distance, Nick Madonia wasn't even born. But with a 57-yard kick, 14 yards longer than his career-best, Madonia didn't just break the Tech record, he shattered it. However, that was only the tip of the iceberg as the Golden Eagles routed Tennessee State 44-16 on Saturday.
