Jared enjoyed an outstanding spring and heads into fall camp as the starter at quarterback...has all the skills in the world to be a standout signal-caller...strong arm and can make all the throws ...strong runner gives him ability to make all the plays...really began to grow into a leadership role in spring...is working hard to protect the ball...a flawless student in the classroom, Jared has also done a great job studying the playbook and putting his skills to work manning his position...after a brilliant prep career, spent his first season on the Golden Eagle roster as an understudy, and saw lots of playing time in his second season...never got untracked as a sophomore due to mediocre protection...uncanny accuracy as a passer...great student of the game who understands Golden Eagle system...good decision-maker.

AT TECH (IN 2014): Jared opened the season as the starter at quarterback in a new system devised by coach Watson Brown...he started the first four games, but his production and efficiency were limited by mediocre protection and injuries to key players around him...after relinquishing the starting role, he finished by seeing action in 10 games...passed for 770 yards and four touchdowns, hitting 50.7 percent of his pass attempts (70-for-138)...scored two rushing touchdowns...caught one pass (during the QW system) for seven yards...opened the year with 168 yards and two touchdowns against Kentucky Christian, hitting 18-for-25...top game came late in the year when he went 14-for-24 for 216 yards and one touchdown, helping Tech to a win over Southeast Missouri...had a huge 15-yard carry late in regulation vs. Murray State to set up field goal that sent the game to overtime of an eventual TTU victory.

(IN 2013): Played in nine games as a redshirt freshman including two starts...completed 56.2 percent of his pass attempts for 935 yards, with nine touchdowns and just five interceptions...was 95-for-169...first career pass went for a 39-yard touchdown in the season opener vs. Cumberland...helped lead second half comeback at Hampton with pair of scoring drives...completed 11-for-12 passes against Indiana State (91.7 percent) for 97 yards and one touchdown...threw for career-best 207 yards against Murray State, going 26-for-42, both career-high numbers...also attempted 42 passes at Eastern Kentucky...completing half (21) for 173 yards...threw for 183 yards and three touchdowns at No. 2 Eastern Illinois...his four biggest games all came on the road.

(IN 2012): Jared took a redshirt in his first year while learning under veteran quarterbacks Tre Lamb and Darian Stone.

IN HIGH SCHOOL: Jared came to the Golden Eagles with an impressive list of credentials, both on the field and in the classroom...a versatile athlete, he lettered three seasons as quarterback for Tullahoma, and also started three seasons on the basketball team and one year each in baseball as a sophomore and tennis as a junior...helped the Wildcats to the District 8AAA  championship as a junior and quarterfinals of the TSSAA class 5A playoffs...named District 8AAA Offensive MVP and team’s Offensive MVP, and two outlets named him Player of the Year in his region...finished career as the all-time winningest starting quarterback, leading the team to 21 wins in 30 games during three seasons...completed 54.8 percent of his career passes for 4,485 yards and 38 touchdowns...also rushed for 789 yards and 17 touchdowns.

PERSONAL: The son of Jerry and Gwen Davis...born December 15, 1993... was a delegate to American Legion Boys State and spent a week on the Tech campus in 2011...full name is Jared Daniel Davis...majoring in mechanical engineering.
