Darian's versatility as a dual threat quarterback has allowed the staff to establish a new position for the 2014 season, where he is slated to start...will line up in the "QW" position, which places a quarterback on the wing...started 14 games at quarterback the past two years and has established himself among the most explosive and dangerous offensive players in the OVC...has led the team in rushing each of the past two seasons, combining for 1,089 yards...moved into the starting role at quarterback for the final four games of 2012 and put up all-conference caliber numbers over that span...has shown abilities to dominate games, including an FCS National Player of the Week honor as a sophomore...incredibly gifted player who continues to develop his skills and knowledge of the game...really took to his new position during spring drills...will be an exciting presence on the field as a senior...exceptional quickness and a strong throwing arm...has done an excellent job learning the Golden Eagle system...highly committed to success both on the field and in the classroom...has earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in several semesters.

AT TECH (IN 2013): For the second straight year, Darian led the Golden Eagles in both rushing and passing yards...he started in all 10 of the game in which he played...named the team's Most Valuable Offensive Player...ranked sixth in the OVC in passing yards per game (100.8) and passing yards (1,008)...completed 53.4 percent of his pass attempts...had 97 yards of total offense againt Southeast Missouri and 271 against Austin Peay in the final two games of the year...his pass efficiency of 103.3 also landed him in the conference's Top 10...he showed his versatility in the season opener against Cumberland, with a completion percentage of 72.7 percent, passing for two touchdowns and rushing for two more...his season-high rushing game was against Southeast Missouri with 162 yards and three touchdowns...he passed for 158 yards and a touchdown against Hampton early in the year, despite missing much of the second half with leg cramps...had four 100-yard passing games and two 100-yard rushing efforts...rushed for 536 yards and seven touchdowns on 143 attempts...accounted for 1,544 yards of total offense.

(IN 2012): Darian played in eight games overall, but his true measure came in the final four games as a starter...during those four contests, he averaged 125 yards per game rushing and 188 yards per game passing with eight TD passes...overall, he finished with 553 yards on 89 carries and a touchdown, leading the team in rushing...in the pocket he completed 70-of-143 passes for 786 yards and 10 touchdowns...threw TD passes in six of his eight appearances, including a six-yard score at No. 4 Oregon...had a pass efficiency of 111.21...season-long pass was 79 yard completion in overtime win against UT Martin on Nov. 10, one of three touchdowns thrown that day...went 16-for-29 for career-high 277 yards against the Skyhawks and rushed for 190 yards on 25 carries to account for 467 yards of total offense, helping net him FCS National Offensive Player of the Week honors...in his first career start, he had 86 rushing yards and 77 through the air at Tennessee State, rushing for one TD and throwing for two more...had more than 100 yards both rushing and passing in each of the final three games.

(IN 2011): Stone saw action in the first two games of the 2011 season...passed for 28 yards on a 3-for-4 effort, including a 22-yard bomb against Iowa on Sept. 3...threw for two yards against Maryville on Sept. 8...totaled 30 yards on the season passing, 80 yards rushing and one TD on three carries against Maryville...longest run of the season was 74 yards against Maryville...averaged 26.7 yards per rush over the season...logged a pass efficiency of 130.40 and averaged 55 yards of total offense per game.

(IN 2010): Darian patiently sat out his first season on the roster as a redshirt, working with the scout team and learning the system.

HIGH SCHOOL: A game-breaking quarterback and a two-time All-State selection under coach Andy Shattuck at Clinton (Tenn.) High School...amassed more than 7,500 yards of total offense in his three seasons at the controls of the Dragons....took Clinton to a 10-0 regular season record as a senior, passing for 2,093 yards and 23 touchdowns with only two interceptions...also rushed for 725 yards and 10 scores on his way to first-team All-State laurels...Mr. Football finalist...finished his career with 5,734 yards and 59 touchdowns passing, along with 1,864 yards and 22 touchdowns on the ground.

PERSONAL: The son of Roy Stone and Alana Reed...birthdate is October 29, 1991...full name is Darian Deron Stone...majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
