2023 (Sophomore): Shiver appeared in 25 of Tech’s 55 games, making nine starts overall, including five at shortstop, three in left field, and one as the designated hitter… finished his first season on the diamond with a .244 batting average, .365 on-base percentage, and .341 slugging percentage… totaled 10 hits, four runs, four doubles, five RBI, and nine walks… made just one error during the year for a .960 fielding percentage… made his Tech baseball debut going 1-for-1 as a pinch hitter at #22 Georgia Tech (Feb. 24)… made his first start with a 1-for-4 showing at Georgia Tech (Feb. 25)… tallied a season-high two hits against Lipscomb (Feb. 28) and again versus Lindenwood (Apr. 8)… turned in season-best marks of two RBI and two runs against Lindenwood (Apr. 7)… slashed a pair of doubles against Lindenwood (Apr. 8)… drew a pair of walks against Southern Indiana (May 19).

2021 Football (Freshman*): Shiver competed in nine of the team’s 11 games, making a pair of starts in the fall campaign… piled up three catches for 70 yards… also racked up 13 punt returns, totaling 117 yards total… hauled in a career-long 44-yard reception at Murray State (Nov. 6)… delivered a career-best 25-yard punt return against Virginia-Lynchburg (Oct. 23), totaling 66 yards on six returns in the contest.

2020-21 Football (Freshman): Shiver played in all seven of Tech’s games, making two starts during the 2020-21 season that took place in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic… racked up seven receptions for 84 yards… tallied a career-long catch of 34 yards at Southeast Missouri (Mar. 28)… picked up one tackle in the contest at #16 Jacksonville State (Feb. 28).

High School: Shiver was a two-sport athlete at Maryville High School in Maryville, Tenn., playing wide receiver for head football coach Derek Hunt for two years and shortstop for head baseball coach Adam Sullivan for four seasons… helped lead the baseball team to a district championships in 2017… as a senior on the football team, hauled in nine passes for 205 yards and four touchdowns… helped MHS to a state title in 2019.

Personal: Son of Nicole and Greg Shiver… born in Maryville, Tenn. on June 6, 2002… full name is Tanner Anderson Shiver… cousin, Stephen, played football at UT Martin from 2008-11.

Academic: Majoring in accounting with an emphasis in business information and technology… named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll five times and the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll once… received the OVC Academic Medal of Honor once.
