Golden Eagle baseball announces 2023 schedule for 100th anniversary campaign
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With just under a month to go before the start of the 2023 campaign, the Tennessee Tech baseball team is raring to go in the program’s 100th anniversary celebration season, which features a number of challenges on the newest Golden Eagle schedule.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With just under a month to go before the start of the 2023 campaign, the Tennessee Tech baseball team is raring to go in the program's 100th anniversary celebration season, which features a number of challenges on the newest Golden Eagle schedule.
Four-time Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year Matt Bragga enters his 17th year directing the Tech program after making his return last season following a three-year run at Rice. In his first season back with the purple and gold, Bragga led the Cookeville Crew to a semifinal run at the OVC Tournament last season.
The 2023 schedule features a total of 53 regular season games, including 24 in the comfort of Quillen Field and Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex. The slate also features 29 road tilts before a potential trip to Marion, Ill. for the 2023 OVC Tournament.
The Golden Eagles kick off the 101st season of Tennessee Tech baseball Friday, Feb. 17, welcoming in Bowling Green for a three-game series to the Quill. Opening weekend spans Feb. 17-19 and attendance at all TTU home baseball games is free of charge.
Additional non-conference home ballgames include weekend series with North Alabama (Mar. 10-12) and in-state rival ETSU (Mar. 17-19), as well as midweek match-ups with Lipscomb (Feb. 28), Middle Tennessee (Mar. 21), and Alabama A&M (May 16).
Following the opening weekend slate, the purple and gold turn into road warriors, with eight of the next nine tilts scheduled away from Cookeville. Tech's first midweek affair of the year will come Tuesday, Feb. 21 at Alabama. From there, the first road weekend for the Golden Eagles features three contests at Georgia Tech from Feb. 24-26.
Other non-conference road action features three-game series at Queens (Mar. 3-5) and at Davidson (Mar. 24-26). Tech will also make midweek visits to Vanderbilt (Mar. 7), Middle Tennessee (Mar. 15), former OVC rival Belmont (Apr. 4), Lipscomb (Apr. 11), Tennessee (Apr. 18), Alabama A&M (Apr. 25), and Kentucky (May 9).
Tech kicks off OVC play Mar. 31-Apr. 2, making the trip to Morehead State in a three-game slate. The Golden Eagles also visit league foes Southeast Missouri (Apr. 14-16), Eastern Illinois (Apr. 28-30), and Little Rock (May 12-14). Home weekends in conference action include visits from Lindenwood (Apr. 6-8), UT Martin (Apr. 21-23), SIUE (May 5-7), and Southern Indiana (May 18-20).
This year's OVC Tournament will take place at Rent One Park in Marion, Ill. from May 24-27.
