2019 (Sophomore): Phillips made 14 appearances and three starts, compiling a 2-2 record and 7.31 ERA… completed 28.1 innings while allowing 23 earned runs and 43 hits… struck out 21 batters while walking 12… tossed a season-best 4.0 innings in his first career start at Alabama A&M (Mar. 5), earning his first victory of the season… finished three or more innings five times on the year, including four in relief appearances… punched out a season-high four batters at eventual national champion Vanderbilt (Apr. 30) in 2.1 innings on the hill… kept opponents off the scoreboard in three outings.

2018 (R-Freshman): Phillips appeared in 12 contests in his first season in the purple and gold… finished the season 1-0 with a 4.11 ERA… tossed 15.1 innings, allowing seven earned runs and 14 hits while striking out 12 and walking five… made his collegiate debut out of the bullpen against Lipscomb (Feb. 27), tossing an inning with just a solo home run surrendered and a season-high three strikeouts… earned his first career win while covering 3.1 innings in a walk-off against Jacksonville State (Apr. 7), allowing just a single, unearned run… covered a season-long 4.0 innings against Morehead State (May 26) in the OVC Tournament, holding the Eagles scoreless and hitless… held opponents scoreless in six appearances and without a hit four times… tossed at least one full inning eight times.

2017 (Freshman): Phillips sat out the 2017 season as a redshirt.

High School: Phillips was a two-sport athlete at Ezell Harding Christian High School, playing basketball and baseball… was a four-year letter winner as a small forward under head coach Reid Hillin, making the 2015 Division II-A All-District Team… lettered four years as a pitcher and catcher for head coach Jason Charlton… as a senior, tallied a 7-3 record and 0.86 ERA over 50 innings on the hill… allowed just seven earned runs and eight walks while striking out a staggering 78 batters… led his team to the 2016 regular season district championship… named Division II-A All-District all four seasons at EHCHS… earned a spot on the All-Region Team as a freshman… honored as a 2016 Midstate Top 10 Pitcher… earned 2015 Perfect Game Underclass Preseason All-American Honorable Mention honors and 2016 Perfect Game All-Southeast Region Honorable Mention honors.

Personal: Son of Randy and Kim Phillips… born June 11, 1997… full name is Grant Randall Phillips.

Academic: Majoring in EXPW/pre-physical therapy… named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll seven times and to the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll twice… earned the OVC Medal of Honor once.
