Bio
A two-sport athlete during her career at Page High School, Madison was a newcomer on the Tennessee Tech track & field team last season, and will be in that same mode as a newcomer to cross country in 2015...competes in middle distance races, primarily at 800 meters...an outstanding student in the classroom, she also participated in a wide variety of school activities including serving as the class president, ROTC, Spanish Honor Society and being voted Queen of both Homecoming and Prom.
In 2016 (Junior): Stremler marked herself as an important "fifth-man" on the Golden Eagle squad...recorded a career-best 6K time of 23:28.2 at the NCAA South Regionals on Nov. 11, where she placed 169th overall...recorded a season-best 5K time of 19:53.3 at the Ohio Valley Conference Championships on Oct. 29, when she placed 65th overall.
At Tech (In 2014-15): Madison did not compete during the cross country season...competed in the middle distance races during the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons as a freshman...posted an indoor best of 2:21.85 at the Vandy Invitational during the indoor season...her best time at 800m during the outdoor season was 2:17.21 at the OVC Championships at Austin Peay.
High School: Madison attended Fred J. Page High School in Franklin, Tenn, where she earned a spot on the A/B Honor Roll and was the student body President in 2013-14 as a senior...she lettered and was captain on both the Patriot soccer and track and field teams...went to the TSSAA state track meet three years in a row for the 300m hurdles where she finished 6th in 2012 as a sophomore, fourth in 2013 as a junior, and second in 2014 as a senior...track team capatin final two years under head coach Pete Wade...competed in the 300m, 4x100m and 4x200m relays...named all-district in soccer, helping to capture one district championship...winner of her team's Leadership Award.
Academic: Madison was twice named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Personal: Madison is the daughter of Mark and Charlotte Stremler...born November 19, 1995 in Urbana, Ill....majoring in International Business...her father ran cross country at Rose-Hulman Institute.
