Bio
A middle distance specialist from a state that churns out exceptional runners, Andrea is a middle distance specialist from Oregon who enjoyed a highly successful prep career at Culver High School. She was the 2014 Oregon High School Class 2A state champion at 800 meters, and was the 2015 bronze medalist in the same event with a time of 2:18.42.
In 2016 (Sophomore): Retano recorded a career-best 5K time of 21:35.79 at the Greater Louisville Classic on Oct. 1, where she placed 29th overall...notched a career-best 6K time of 26:57.87 at the Azalea City Class on Sept. 9, when she placed 30th overall...competed in five of the seven races for the Golden Eagles this season.
Coach Angel on Retano: Andrea is a gutsy athlete with untapped potential. She brings a strong work ethic and is a highly competitive runner. She will be an impact runner who will make a difference in both cross country and track.
