2024 (Sophomore): Rodgers sat out the 2024 season due to injury.

2023 (R-Freshman): Rodgers competed in 10 of Tech’s 30 matches on the year, playing in 31 of 120 sets overall… missed the final 20 tilts of the season due to injury… ended the season with 21 total blocks, 16 block assists, five solo stops, 40 kills, and six digs… made her collegiate debut with four kills and three total blocks against Bellarmine (Aug. 25)… registered season-highs of seven kills, three solo blocks, and five total rejections against South Dakota State (Sept. 9)… tallied at least five kills four times and recorded at least three blocks in four tilts.

2022 (Freshman): Rodgers sat out the 2022 season as a redshirt due to injury.

High School: Rodgers was a three-year letterwinner at Alan C. Pope High School in Marietta, Ga. for head coach Erica Miller… took home Most Improved Player honors as a member of the junior varsity team, eventually earning a promotion to varsity as part of the GHSA 6A State Championship squad… compiled 787 kills, 293 blocks, 195 digs, and 79 service aces during her career… as a senior, recorded 379 kills, 109 blocks, 117 digs, and 51 aces on her way to GHSA 6A All-State Player of the Year honors… also named AVCA Best and Brightest Second Team and to the All-State First Team… earned three straight All-Region First Team honors, including GHSA Region 6-6A Player of the Year as a junior and senior… as a sophomore, collected GVCA 6A All-State Honorable Mention… led her team to back-to-back Region 6-6A titles in 2020 and 2021.

Personal: Daughter of Jerome and Aronda Rodgers… born in Rhode Island on May 7, 2004… full name is Ayanna Nicole Rodgers… father, Jerome, played basketball at Tennessee Tech from 1987-91, still ranks 25th on the program’s all-time scoring list with 1,138 points, and was a member of the 1987-88 OVC All-Freshman Team.

Academic: Majoring in exercise science and physical wellness with a concentration in sports administration… named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll five times and the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll once.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Before the Tennessee Tech volleyball team honored its seniors, the quartet put on an impressive show as Jordan Karlen, Bella Powell, MK Roberts and Ayanna Rodgers powered the Golden Eagles to a 3-1 victory over UT Martin on Friday in the Hooper Eblen Center. Karlen finished the match with two kills, 37 assists, a service ace, 22 digs and an assisted block. Roberts had 11 assists, an ace, 34 receptions and 10 digs, while Powell had 24 kills, an ace, four receptions and seven digs and Rodgers collected two kills.

Golden Eagles sweep final three sets to top UT Martin

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech put together a reverse sweep on Thursday night as UT Martin took the first two sets in the Hooper Eblen Center, but the Golden Eagles stormed back to sweep the third, fourth and fifth sets to take a 3-2 victory. It was a career-high night for several Golden Eagles as Tech (8-13, 5-4 Ohio Valley Conference) collected 85 digs in all, led by a career-high 25 for MK Roberts, who also posted a personal best for service aces with seven of Tech’s one-timers. Ella Watford, Mallory Jenkins and Brooklyn Rapp also collected the most digs in their careers with 14, three and 10, respectively.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – There’s still plenty of volleyball to play as the Tennessee Tech team has at least a month remaining in the Ohio Valley Conference race. As this weekend’s matches will present themselves as the final weekend home matches for the Golden Eagles this season in the Eblen Center, it provides a perfect time for Tech to honor its seniors. The Golden Eagles will honor Jordan Karlen, MK Roberts and Ayanna Rodgers during the ceremony, while Bella Powell, who was honored at Senior Day last season, will be recognized.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The name Tuva Falk may not have gained notoriety in the Ohio Valley Conference yet, but Tennessee State certainly felt her impact on Saturday as the Tennessee Tech freshman put on an impressive showing, leading the Golden Eagles to a 3-1 victory over TSU at the Hooper Eblen Center. Falk finished the day with a career-high 13 kills on 29 swings, hitting .414 in the contest. She also had five assisted blocks to end the day with 15.5 total points.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech took the first two sets on Friday night, but Tennessee State wasn’t going down without a fight as the Golden Eagles rallied from a seven-point deficit in the finale to complete the three-set sweep, Tech (6-11, 3-2 Ohio Valley Conference) concludes the series against the Lady Tigers on Saturday at 2 p.m. Admission to all volleyball matches is free to the public. The match will also be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
