2022-23 (Freshman): A member of the 2022-23 OVC tournament championship squad ... helped the Golden Eagles to their first NCAA Tournament victory since 1990 with First Four win over Monmouth ...  Cowart saw action in 21 of the team's 33 games played, averaging 8.5 minutes per game ... averaged 1.8 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game ... shot .406 from the field, .364 from 3-point range and .571 at the free throw line ... had 20 total rebounds, 24 assists and eight steals ... scored a career-best eight points in 20 minutes of playtime at Tennessee State (2/11/23) ... had a career-best five rebounds at Eastern Illinois (2/25/23) ... had a career-best four assists against Tennessee Wesleyan (12/13/22).

EVANSVILLE, Tenn. – As the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team walked off the court on Thursday following its 79-71 loss to UT Martin in the Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships quarterfinal, it was a moment of sadness. For several members of the Golden Eagle lineup, it was their final game in uniform as their careers came to a close. For some, there lies an air of uncertainty. For others, it’s a moment to build on as Tech begins its preparation for the 2024-25 campaign tomorrow. While the end of the season came much earlier than any of the Golden Eagle players or coaches wanted, it’s a bittersweet moment.

Winning streak comes to an end as shots don't fall at Martin

MARTIN, Tenn. – The winning streak is over. Now it’s time for Tennessee Tech to build a new one. The Golden Eagles saw their six-game winning streak come to a close as shots just did not fall for them Thursday night, leading to a 67-37 defeat to UT Martin in the Elam Center. Tech (15-13, 10-7 Ohio Valley Conference) now falls into a tie for fourth in the conference standings with one game remaining. With the win Thursday, UT Martin leap-frogs into second place with a game left and a half-game lead on Eastern Illinois, who fell to Western Illinois on Thursday to close out the Panthers’ regular season.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Even as SIUE poured in 3-pointer after 3-pointer in the fourth quarter, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team’s offense continued to click to avoid any Cougar comeback bid, taking the visitors down 86-76 Thursday to win their fifth straight game – all by double-digits. Tech (14-12, 9-6 Ohio Valley Conference) remains in a three-way tie for third as UT Martin and Little Rock also claimed wins on Thursday night. Eastern Illinois, the Golden Eagles’ opponent on Saturday, stands a game up in second place at 10-5. Tipoff from the Eblen Center on Saturday for the Senior Day contest is at 1 p.m.

Tech women hit the road Thursday to take on Morehead State

MOREHEAD, Ky. – After a rocky start to Ohio Valley Conference play against a traditional conference power and a rising newcomer, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will try to get back into the win column on Thursday as the Golden Eagles head to Morehead State. Tipoff on Thursday is scheduled for 4 p.m. Central time. Roger Ealey will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Jared Stacy and Dean Hardin will broadcast the game on ESPN+ (subscription required). The game is the first leg of a two-game road trip this week as Tech will also head to Evansville to take on Southern Indiana on Saturday evening before coming home next Saturday to take on Southeast Missouri for the Golden Eagles’ only home affair at the Hooper Eblen Center this month.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech got off to a fast start on Monday night as the Golden Eagles jumped out on a quick 10-0 run and never looked back, topping Northern Kentucky 77-59. Maaliya Owens led the Golden Eagles with 28 points, shooting 9-for-19 from the field and 5-for-9 from 3-point range, while going 5-for-5 at the free-throw line. As she hit her third trey of the game, Owens moved into second on the team’s all-time 3-pointers made list, passing assistant coach Allison Clark’s 225 and trailing only Jordan Brock on the chart.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – In the history of Tennessee Tech Athletics, no name raises the blood pressure of Golden Eagle fans more than Middle Tennessee. Whether it was a battle for Shinny-Ninny or the Blizzard of “MTSU degrees” that would shower down in the Hooper Eblen Center, there are a lot of memories between the two schools -- just don’t call them fond.  While it’s been a while since the two teams have squared off in conference play, both the Golden Eagles and the Blue Raiders still see each other often in competition.  Sunday, it’ll be the turn for women’s basketball as the Tech women host the Lady Raiders at the Eblen Center.

Golden Eagle women head to Kentucky for Sunday showdown

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Tennessee Tech gave Missouri a scare last week at the Daytona Beach Classic. Now the Golden Eagle women’s basketball team will head up to Lexington looking to knock off Kentucky on Sunday. The game is scheduled for a 12 p.m. Central tipoff at Transylvania University’s Clive M. Beck Center with renovations to UK’s Memorial Coliseum seeing the Wildcats splitting time at Transy and Rupp Arena. Roger Ealey will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Maggie Davis and Bria Goss will narrate the action on SEC Network+ (available on ESPN+ with a cable subscription including SEC Network). Sunday’s game is the 16th meeting all-time between the two teams and the first since 2017. Kentucky holds an 8-7 advantage in the series with Tech last winning in 1989.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Reghan Grimes was a spark Wednesday night as the Tennessee Tech women cruised to an 84-57 victory over Division II Lincoln Memorial. The Golden Eagles improved to 2-4 on the season, while the game does not count against the visiting Lady Railsplitters as they are counting the game as an exhibition contest. Grimes, the sophomore from Nashville, scored a career-high 20 points as she finished 5-for-6 from the field, including a 3-point shot in the middle of Tech’s 13-0 run in the first quarter, while also going 9-for-12 at the free-throw line. Grimes also had six rebounds.

First-quarter drought stalls Golden Eagles vs. Chattanooga

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Wednesday night started as tough as it could have for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team. Shots didn’t fall, turnovers stalled the offense and just nothing went right in the early phase of the game. As the Golden Eagles were able to get back off their heels and put some momentum together in the second half, the damage was already done as Chattanooga escaped the Eblen Center with a 70-45 victory over Tech.
