Bio
2022-23 (at Vanderbilt, senior): Chambers finished her senior season with the Commodores, playing in all 31 contests and starting 24 as she averaged 20.3 minutes a game. Averaging 4.5 points and 4.6 rebounds, Chambers had a solid .600 shooting percentage, leading the team. She had 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting and 12 rebounds – both career highs – in a December 18 contest against Lipscomb, while also recording five assists on January 29 against Texas A&M, two blocks on February 2 against Missouri and had four steals on January 16 against Arkansas. Chambers also had double-digit scoring nights against Western Kentucky, Northern Iowa and Texas A&M. Chambers finished the season with 139 points, 144 rebounds, 30 assists, 13 blocks and 45 steals.
2021-22 (at Vanderbilt, junior): Chambers posted a team-best 46.7 field goal percentage and 71.9 from the charity stripe as she compiled 65 points, 17 steals and 13 assists.
2020-21 (at Vanderbilt, sophomore): Chambers played all eight games Vanderbilt played during the pandemic season, shooting 50-percent from the floor with 10 points and nine rebounds against Kentucky and 10 points against Gardner-Webb.
2019-20 (at Vanderbilt, freshman): She saw action in 13 games as a freshman with a season-high seven points against Arkansas and four rebounds at Alabama.
HIGH SCHOOL: She closed out her prep career at Murfreesboro's Providence Christian Academy, earning a 2019 TSSAA State Tournament MVP following the Lions' Division II-A state championship win over CAK. The team swept through the postseason that year, winning district, regional, sectional and state titles. Chambers was on the all-district team, as well as the all-tournament teams in the district, regional and state tournaments.
She also had a tremendous resume off the court as she held lead roles in Pearl-Cohn's productions of High School Musical and Little Shop of Horrors, was a vocalist and member of Fab Five – a traveling musical group from Metro Nashville schools – and won six Pearlies – Pearl-Cohn's version of the Grammys – for Best Female Rap/Hip-Hop, twice for Best Music Video, Record of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year and Song of the Year. Those helped lead to her studies at Vanderbilt in Cinema and Media Arts. The talent also runs in the family as Chambers is the daughter of Tamara and Grammy-winning artist Byron "Mr. Talkbox" Chambers Sr.
Chambers was also a district champion in debate and worked on coding for Pearl-Cohn's robotics team.
ACADEMICS: With a degree already in hand, Chambers in working toward a master's degree in professional studies.

News mentions
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Tennessee Tech turned its defense into offense and the Golden Eagles drained some clutch 3-pointers to build a third-quarter lead and scrape out a big win over Western Illinois to advance. With the victory, the Golden Eagles (16-14) move into the Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Championships quarterfinals to take on No. 3-seed UT Martin at 3:30 p.m. Dylan Vazzano will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will also be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Saturday is the final day of the regular season for the Ohio Valley Conference with the postseason tournament beginning on Wednesday. As Tennessee Tech enters the final contest of the regular season, the Golden Eagles are trying to secure the last bye in the field. Southern Indiana already has the top seed wrapped up. A UT Martin will give the Skyhawks the No. 2 seed and the other double-bye – however, a UTM loss and a Little Rock win over Tech on Saturday will put the Trojans in the No. 2-spot. If the Golden Eagles win and UT Martin wins, Tech will earn the No. 4-seed, losing the tiebreaker to Eastern Illinois. If Tech wins and UT Martin loses, the Skyhawks will win the No. 2-seed through the tiebreaker with Eastern Illinois and the Golden Eagles. The Panthers will be the No. 3-seed, while Tech will be the No. 4-seed.
MARTIN, Tenn. – The winning streak is over. Now it’s time for Tennessee Tech to build a new one. The Golden Eagles saw their six-game winning streak come to a close as shots just did not fall for them Thursday night, leading to a 67-37 defeat to UT Martin in the Elam Center. Tech (15-13, 10-7 Ohio Valley Conference) now falls into a tie for fourth in the conference standings with one game remaining. With the win Thursday, UT Martin leap-frogs into second place with a game left and a half-game lead on Eastern Illinois, who fell to Western Illinois on Thursday to close out the Panthers’ regular season.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It’s always emotional when a season starts to wind down to the final days. Senior Day is a bittersweet moment as you reflect on the success, the adversity and the accomplishments over the past several years. For this Tech senior class in 2023-24, there’s still a lot to do with the Ohio Valley Conference tournament just a couple of weeks away and plenty to prepare for before that event. Since putting on the Purple and Gold, this Senior class has known nothing but winning. This group has experienced five consecutive winning seasons and are currently in the hunt for their sixth-straight winning season. They captured the program’s first OVC tournament championship in 23 years, and first NCAA tournament win in 30 years.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois won a nailbiter over Tennessee Tech in Charleston. On Saturday, it was the Golden Eagles’ turn. After the visiting Panthers took a 68-67 lead with just over two minutes remaining in the contest, Peyton Carter pulled down an offensive board and put the ball back in to retake the advantage at 69-68 and 1:46 left. At 1:04, Anna Walker drained a 3-pointer to make it a four-point lead, but EIU’s Charita Lewis halved the lead with a jumper at 54 seconds remaining. Lewis and Ellie Buzzelle fouled the Golden Eagles, the latter putting Reghan Grimes at the line for a pair with 14 seconds left.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Even as SIUE poured in 3-pointer after 3-pointer in the fourth quarter, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team’s offense continued to click to avoid any Cougar comeback bid, taking the visitors down 86-76 Thursday to win their fifth straight game – all by double-digits. Tech (14-12, 9-6 Ohio Valley Conference) remains in a three-way tie for third as UT Martin and Little Rock also claimed wins on Thursday night. Eastern Illinois, the Golden Eagles’ opponent on Saturday, stands a game up in second place at 10-5. Tipoff from the Eblen Center on Saturday for the Senior Day contest is at 1 p.m.
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – Tennessee Tech used the glass to great effect on Saturday as it was the rebounding effort that helped the Golden Eagles take a 67-58 victory over SIUE. Tech won the battle on the glass 44-37, but it was the offensive rebounds that put the Golden Eagles on top as Tech doubled the offensive boards 20-10, scoring 21 second-chance points to SIUE’s five. With the extra opportunities, the Golden Eagles were able to get five more field goals and 17 more shot attempts.
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – After a tough loss on Thursday that came down to literally the final second, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will forget the past and forge onward toward the next opponent – Saturday’s contest at SIUE. Tipoff from First Community Arena is slated for 1 p.m. Saturday. Roger Ealey will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
CHARLESTON, Ill. – After an 18-day stretch with only two games for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team, the Golden Eagles get back into a little bit of normal routine this week as they hit the road to take on Eastern Illinois on Thursday night before heading to SIUE on Saturday. Tipoff for Thursday’s game from Lantz Arena is scheduled for 5 p.m. Roger Ealey will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will also be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
NASHVILLE – Tennessee Tech wasn’t going to make it three straight losses at the Gentry Center. With inspired efforts from Reghan Grimes and Maaliya Owens, the Golden Eagles were able to claim an 86-81 victory over Tennessee State on Thursday night. While the final deficit was five points, the game was in the Golden Eagles’ control for the entire second half as Tech (8-9, 3-3 Ohio Valley Conference) led by as many as 19 points nearly midway through the third quarter ay 63-44. That’s not to say the host Lady Tigers (5-11, 2-4 OVC) didn’t make it interesting – TSU cut the deficit down to three points on a 3-pointer from Sanaa’ St. Andre at 1:15 remaining in the contest, Tech leading 81-78.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Southern Indiana has proven to be one of the most-improved teams in the Ohio Valley Conference this season and currently sits atop the league standings as the Screaming Eagles have won all three of their league games this season. The improved upstart takes on the tradition of the Golden Eagles on Saturday as the two teams lock up on Saturday evening with the tipoff scheduled for 5 p.m. Roger Ealey will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle with Matthew Will and Payton Buse handling the action on ESPN+ (subscription required).
MOREHEAD, Ky. – After a rocky start to Ohio Valley Conference play against a traditional conference power and a rising newcomer, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will try to get back into the win column on Thursday as the Golden Eagles head to Morehead State. Tipoff on Thursday is scheduled for 4 p.m. Central time. Roger Ealey will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Jared Stacy and Dean Hardin will broadcast the game on ESPN+ (subscription required). The game is the first leg of a two-game road trip this week as Tech will also head to Evansville to take on Southern Indiana on Saturday evening before coming home next Saturday to take on Southeast Missouri for the Golden Eagles’ only home affair at the Hooper Eblen Center this month.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The matchup was everything it was expected to be Thursday night as the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team hosted Little Rock to open Ohio Valley Conference play. And while the Golden Eagles had a tough beginning to the game getting shots to fall, Tech (5-7, 0-1 OVC) kept pace, even after Little Rock (2-10, 1-0 OVC) took a 13-point lead in the third quarter. Fittingly, the game came down to the final possession. Yaubryon Chambers tied the game with 1:02 remaining on a free throw, then Tia Harvey gave the Trojans a two-point lead with 32 ticks left after Faith Lee missed a shot as Chambers deflected it. Harvey grabbed the loose ball and hit the jumper.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After a close finish against Little Rock, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will get right back at it on Saturday afternoon as the Golden Eagles welcome in UT Martin. Tipoff for the matinee doubleheader is slated for 1 p.m. Roger Ealey will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Dylan Vazzano and Frank Harrell will break down the action on ESPN+ (subscription required). In more modern history, the Skyhawks have been one of the top teams in the Ohio Valley Conference and the Golden Eagles had a streak of nearly six years going winless against UT Martin. That has changed in recent years as Tech has won the last four meetings against UTM and five of the last six.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team got a needed motivational boost with a big win in its last outing. Now, the Golden Eagles will try to make it two in a row on Monday night as the Tech women host Northern Kentucky on Monday night. Tip-off on Monday is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Hooper Eblen Center. Roger Ealey and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Dylan Vazzano and Steve Smith will narrate the action on ESPN+ (subscription required).
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech came out hot on Thursday and put up big numbers on Education Day, thrilling a near-record crowd in the Eblen Center as the Golden Eagles soared to a 104-43 victory over Tennessee Wesleyan. The announced attendance of 5,887 stands as the second-most fans for a women’s basketball home game at the Hooper Eblen Center. The 61-point margin of victory is also the fourth-largest in the program’s history. It is also Tech’s first 100-point game since 2018. The Golden Eagles (3-6) scored 38 points in the first quarter alone, banking on a 75-percent shooting rate, hitting 15 of their 20 shots. Tech was also able to force 31 turnovers in the contest, converting those into 46 points. Reagan Hurst had four steals, while Maaliya Owens, Jennifer Sullivan and Harley Paynter each had three.

Roger Ealey and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Dylan Vazzano and Steve Smith will broadcast the game on ESPN+ (subscription required).
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – While Sunday’s game wasn’t a win for the Tennessee Tech women over Middle Tennessee, it did show how much progress the Golden Eagles have made in a year’s time. The 63-47 final on Sunday wasn’t the desired result, but it’s definitely something to build from. The Golden Eagles fall to 2-6 on the season with a few chances to improve their record before Ohio Valley Conference begins in 18 days. Tech hosts Tennessee Wesleyan on Thursday for its annual Education Day contest, then Northern Kentucky next Monday before closing out the non-conference portion of the schedule on the road at North Alabama on Dec. 21.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After a couple of weekends on the road, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team returns home on Wednesday to take on Division II Lincoln Memorial at the Eblen Center. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Tennessee Tech might have lost the game Friday night against Southeastern Conference foe Missouri in the Daytona Beach Classic, but the Golden Eagles were winners in a different way as Tech put together its strongest effort of the season thus far in a tough 66-65 loss to the Tigers. The Golden Eagles (0-4) knocked down 10 3-pointers, dominated the glass with 33 total rebounds and 14 offensive caroms, forced Missouri into 15 turnovers with nine steals and had 14 assists to the Tigers’ nine. Tech had four players score in double-digits as Maaliya Owens and Reghan Grimes each had 13 points, while Reagan Hurst and Jennifer Sullivan each had 12. The Golden Eagles were 21-of-58 from the field, 10-for-33 from 3-point range – and held a Missouri team that averaged over 10 3-pointers a game to 6-for-14 from long-range.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – There’s nothing like getting that first win of the season. Building on the momentum the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team created during Friday’s contest against Missouri, the Golden Eagles led from the start and never looked back, taking a 65-59 victory over Stetson on Saturday to close out their play in the Daytona Beach Classic. Tech (1-4) got double-digit scoring production from four players as Anna Walker led the way with 16 points, while Maaliya Owens had 12, Reagan Hurst 11 and Reghan Grimes 10. Everything that worked in the Golden Eagles’ one-point loss Friday to Southeastern Conference foe Missouri seemed to click again.
DAYTONA, Fla. -- While everyone else is settling in with their Thanksgiving feasts, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team is hard at work getting ready for its action this weekend in the Daytona Beach Classic. The Golden Eagles have a challenge ahead as Tech faces the first of two Southeastern Conference opponents on the season as it takes on Missouri on Friday night, then takes on nearby Stetson on Saturday afternoon. Roger Ealey will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game will be streamed live via FloSports (subscription required).
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Momentum shifted away from the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team as the Golden Eagles saw a 15-point lead disappear through the fourth quarter as Alabama A&M knotted the game with 13 seconds remaining in regulation, then outscored Tech 12-6 in the extra five minutes to take a 62-56 win on Saturday. The Golden Eagles drop to 0-3 on the season as they enter the holiday break. Tech travels down to the Daytona Beach Classic on Friday and Saturday as the Golden Eagles face Missouri Friday night at 7 p.m. Central time, then Stetson Saturday afternoon.
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will start a three-game road trip on Saturday as the Golden Eagles head down to Huntsville to take on Alabama A&M on Saturday. COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Wednesday night started as tough as it could have for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team. Shots didn’t fall, turnovers stalled the offense and just nothing went right in the early phase of the game. As the Golden Eagles were able to get back off their heels and put some momentum together in the second half, the damage was already done as Chattanooga escaped the Eblen Center with a 70-45 victory over Tech.

Roger Ealey and Frank Harrell will have the call on 106.1 The Eagle, while Dylan Vazzano and Steve Smith will narrate the action on ESPN+ (subscription required).
MUNCIE, Ind. – Yaubryon Chambers had a solid debut for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team on Monday, collecting 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting – one point shy of her career-high set as a member of the Vanderbilt roster. However, Ball State saw six players score in double figures, with Bowling Green transfer Nyla Hampton proving to be a wrecking ball on defense, collecting eight steals, as the host Cardinals defeated Tech 97-64 on Monday morning.

The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will hit the road to open up the campaign on Monday morning and they won’t have to wait long to get the 2023-24 season underway. It’ll be an early matinee as the Golden Eagles take on Ball State at 11 a.m. Eastern/10 a.m. Central for the Cardinals’ Field Trip Day. With area school children filling up BSU’s Worthen Arena, it’ll be a loud, exciting atmosphere to open up the campaign. Roger Ealey will have the call live on 106.1 The Eagle, while the game can also be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required).
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team cut the nets down in Evansville in March at the Ford Center. As head coach Kim Rosamond returned with graduate standout Maaliya Owens on Tuesday for Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Media Day, it wasn't to reminisce on the past, it was to focus on the task ahead of them. While the Tech women are picked to win the OVC for the second straight season, the thought on their mind is simple – it's time to get down to business. In addition to the Golden Eagles getting the nod from the league voters, consisting of the women's basketball coaches and sports information contacts, graduate guard Owens was also named the conference's Preseason Player of the Year and senior forward Anna Walker was named to the Preseason All-OVC team.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Ask any coach, and they will be the first to acknowledge the important role a strong strength and conditioning program plays in any winning program. Coach Matt Hewett, Tennessee Tech's Director of Athletic Performance, took over the reins as the strength coach for women's basketball in the spring of 2018, and his impact was felt immediately. Tech women’s basketball head coach Kim Rosamond and her staff are quick to acknowledge how Hewett’s work with their program has been an integral part of their success over the last five years and a catalyst for the 2022-23 championship season. Hewett’s experience and expertise are vital components to the continued development of an elite athletic program at Tennessee Tech. The Iron Eagle Award was one of the ways Hewett helped encourage healthy competition and pride in the weight room, and it is a prestigious honor within the team culture.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After one of the most successful seasons for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team with an Ohio Valley Conference championship and a victory in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, Kim Rosamond has certainly cemented a place for herself in the program’s history. She’ll get the opportunity to add to her legacy in Cookeville as Rosamond received a five-year contract extension through the end of the 2027-28 campaign, as announced today by Tennessee Tech Director of Athletics Mark Wilson. “Kim Rosamond has had a vision for the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball program since the day she first walked in to the Hooper Eblen Center,” Wilson said. “Her determination, her commitment to Golden Eagle basketball has been tremendous and the results speak for themselves. As the team continues to build on its legacy, Coach Rosamond’s teams have brought the University and the community together in support and I truly believe what she has built over these last few years is only the beginning.”
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. –The positive momentum continues to build around the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball program. Fresh off a historic 2022-23 season in which the Golden Eagles captured their first OVC tournament championship and NCAA tournament appearance since 2000 as well as their first NCAA tournament win since 1990, Coach Kim Rosamond announced the signing of Division III WBCA All-American guard Madison Kellione on Thursday. Kellione will bring her own championship resume to Cookeville as a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility remaining. The standout guard will bolster an already strong and talented Tech roster.
