2021-22 (Sophomore): Walker had a great first season with the Golden Eagles, averaging 8.5 points and 4.0 rebounds as she played in all 32 games, starting in eight ... shot .458 (99-of-216) from the field, .371 (26-for-70) from 3-point range and .787 (48-of-61) from the charity stripe ... set new career highs in scoring with 22 points against Bethel (11/9/21), rebounds with 13 at SIUE (2/12/22), assists with five against UT Martin (2/26/22), steals with two against previous team Chattanooga (11/13/21) ... had three blocked shots against both Tennessee Wesleyan (12/16/21) and UT Martin (1/31/22) ... played a career-best 35:01 against Murray State in the Ohio Valley Conference semifinal (3/4/22) ... made a career-best nine shots against Morehead State (1/6/22) ... was 6-for-6 at the line at Austin Peay (2/19/22).

However, the Golden Eagles saw the Green Wave pull away in the second half, the tide rising with a 12-point run in the third quarter as Tulane took a 71-49 victory over Tech in the last non-conference contest of the season for the Golden Eagles. Tech (6-4) advanced to the championship of the two-day event by default as VCU had to pull out of the tournament on Monday afternoon.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Reagan Hurst and Reghan Grimes led the Tennessee Tech women with 10 points each on Thursday morning as Middle Tennessee took an 83-45 victory in the Murphy Center. Facing off against the backdrop of a loud and spirited crowd from Murfreesboro City Schools for the Blue Raiders’ Education Day, the two teams battled back and forth through the opening quarter with the Golden Eagles (3-3) prevailing 19-18 in the first stanza.

Thursday’s game is scheduled for an 11 a.m. tip as the Blue Raiders host their annual Education Day contest. It will be the first contest for the Tech women since Nov. 20 – 11 days – and is the only game for the Golden Eagles until Dec. 10 – another nine-day gap with finals week in progress next week – as Tech hosts Alabama A&M the day after Winter Commencement at the Hooper Eblen Center.
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky surged out to a big lead Sunday afternoon and made it a challenging day for the Tennessee Tech women. The Golden Eagles tried to chip away, but the host Norse held on for a 75-53 victory on Sunday. The Golden Eagles (3-2) will now enter the Thanksgiving holiday break and return to action on December 1 for an Education Day matinee at traditional rival Middle Tennessee, an 11 a.m. contest. Tech returns home on December 10 with a visit from Alabama A&M.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women improved to 3-1 on the season on Thursday night, cruising to a 69-52 victory over in-state foe Trevecca Nazarene in the Eblen Center. Maaliya Owens was a force for the Golden Eagles, scoring a career-high 21 points and blocking five shots. The senior came narrowly close to recording her first double-double as she pulled down seven rebounds in the contest. Owens was 8-for-15 from the field, including 5-for-7 from 3-point range.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – On Monday night, Trevecca Nazarene made the cross-town trip to Tennessee State and gave the homestanding Tigers a scare before TSU prevailed 84-40 in the Gentry Center. On Thursday, the Trojans will hit I-40 to come to Cookeville to take on the Tennessee Tech women. COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After a slow start, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team battled back in the second quarter to erase a 12-point deficit to take a halftime lead, then held on to claim a 75-70 victory over Samford on Monday night in the Hooper Eblen Center. Junior Anna Walker led Tech with a career-high 24 points, shooting 11-for-15 from the field, as she also pulled down five rebounds and blocked two shots. The sizeable posts for Samford – including Sussy Ngulefac, Kathleen Wheeler and Kiersten Nelson – made Walker work for every point.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team scored the same or outscored the homestanding Cincinnati Bearcats in three of the four quarters on Thursday afternoon, but it was the second quarter that proved to be the difference in the contest as the Bearcats topped the Golden Eagles 68-57. The Golden Eagles (1-1) were outscored 21-7 in the second period as Tech’s shots wouldn’t fall, shooting 3-for-16 from the floor in the quarter, including 1-for-6 from beyond-the-arc. While Cincinnati didn’t shoot too much better, the Bearcats knocked down three 3-pointers and hit four of their five shots at the free-throw line. Cincinnati had a 14-0 run during that stretch.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The game Monday night may have come down to the wire, but the Tennessee Tech women got the most important thing in the season opener against Ball State – the victory. The Golden Eagles put their first notch in the win column, topping the Cardinals – currently ranked No. 14 in the CollegeInsider.com Preseason Top 25 – with a 68-63 victory in the Hooper Eblen Center on Monday night. Ball State (0-1) certainly made it interesting though. After the Golden Eagles used a few runs in the second quarter to build a 19-point lead in the contest, the Cardinals rallied back, outscoring the Golden Eagles 39-29 in the second half and 16-9 in the fourth quarter. BSU even cut the deficit down to one point with 1:44 remaining in the contest.

Following the 66-53 victory over Stephens College on Thursday night, they’ll have a road map on what the next couple of weeks will have in store. Tech got double-digit scoring nights from Anna Walker, Jordan Brock and Maaliya Owens as Walker led the way with 15 points, Brock and Owens 14. Walker also recorded a double-double in the contest – though it won’t stand in her official stats as it was an exhibition affair – as she pulled down 12 rebounds. She shot 6-for-10 from the field for the highest rate in the lineup Thursday night, while she was also 3-for-3 at the line.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee Tech women's basketball will hold their annual Biscuits and Basketball Meet and Greet on Saturday inside the Hooper Eblen Center. The public is invited to get a first glimpse of the 2022-23 Golden Eagle roster and take part in the "Maintain the Tradition" free-throw fundraising event that will follow directly after Biscuits and Basketball. Chick-fil-A of Cookeville will once again serve as a sponsor of Biscuits and Basketball. Free biscuits and coffee will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. The team will host a brief team workout, followed by team introductions and autographs.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – It's a familiar spot for the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team as they were picked to win the Ohio Valley Conference in Tuesday's preseason poll released at the conference's annual Basketball Media Day at the Evansville DoubleTree Hotel and the Ford Center. It's the first time since 2011-12 that the Golden Eagles were picked to win the league outright and the 13th time Tech was the favorite in the poll. Tech is looking for its 19th OVC regular-season title and 10th tournament crown as the 2022-23 season opens at the end of the month.
