PEORIA, Ill. – Tennessee Tech used a six-run fourth inning in Wednesday’s Ohio Valley Conference Softball Championship opener to erase memories of last season’s loss to Tennessee State in the tournament, piling on for a six-inning, 10-2 run-rule victory. Moving into double-elimination play, the Golden Eagles had a tough outing in the second game as the defending OVC champs topped Tech (20-34) 6-0.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech softball team wrapped up a spot in next week’s Ohio Valley Conference tournament on Saturday as the Golden Eagles opened their series against Morehead State with a 10-2 win in five innings. The originally scheduled start of noon was pushed back nearly seven hours before the game got underway and Morehead State took a quick lead with a two-run home run for Kendra Lewis, but that was it for the visiting Eagles (8-39, 6-18 Ohio Valley Conference).

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Tennessee Tech saw Lindenwood hold on to take both ends of the doubleheader on Saturday as the Golden Eagles fell 2-1 in the day’s opener, then was held to just three hits in the second game, falling 7-3. Tech (16-31, 8-15 Ohio Valley Conference) got two of its four hits in the first game from Abby Shoulders, who went 2-for-4, while Olivia Evans and Sydney Kirby also had base knocks.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech kept battling with Austin Peay, forcing extra innings against their former Ohio Valley Conference foes on Wednesday, but the visiting Governors scored two runs in the top of the eighth and the Golden Eagles were only able to get one more on the board as Tech fell 7-6 in eight innings. The Golden Eagles (16-29) return to conference action on Saturday as they head to Lindenwood for their last OVC road series of the regular season.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech softball team fought beat for beat with Southeast Missouri on Friday, but all the scoring came early as the Redhawks scored seven of their nine combined runs in the first innings and Tech scored all five of its Friday runs in the second innings as SEMO topped Tech 6-3 in game one and 3-2 in game two. The series concludes on Saturday at noon. Admission to all games at Tech Softball Field is free.

MARTIN, Tenn. – After UT Martin surged out to a 4-0 lead in the second, the Tennessee Tech softball team battled back, scoring eight unanswered runs on Saturday to take the first game of the series against the Skyhawks.   Tech and UTM conclude the series on Sunday with a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.

The Golden Eagles (12-26) return to action Saturday and Sunday as they take on UT Martin on the road to continue Ohio Valley Conference play.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Abby Shoulders led the Tennessee Tech offense with a 2-for-3 performance with an RBI, while Bella Ochoa went 2-for-2 with a run scored, but it was a tough day as Eastern Illinois completed the three-game sweep, topping the Golden Eagles 14-3 in five innings on Saturday. Tech (11-26, 4-11 Ohio Valley Conference) returns to action on Tuesday as it hosts Georgia State at 5 p.m. from Tech Softball Field.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Tennessee Tech took the lead in the fifth inning and made a case to avoid the sweep, but Southern Indiana tied the game, then walked the game off in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly to take the 4-3 win. The Golden Eagles (10-23, 4-8 Ohio Valley Conference) return to action on Wednesday as they head to Louisville to take on Bellarmine in a single game. Tech returns to the OVC slate next week as it hosts Eastern Illinois on Saturday and Sunday at Tech Softball Field.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The offense came through in a big way for the Tennessee Tech softball team as the Golden Eagles claimed a pair of victories over Western Illinois on Saturday, rallying to tie the day’s first game in the bottom of the seventh, then won in the ninth 5-4. Tech then run-ruled the visitors in game two 14-6. The Golden Eagles (9-19, 3-5 Ohio Valley Conference) will close out the series against the Leathernecks on Sunday. First pitch has been moved up to 11 a.m. with rain in the forecast. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ (subscription required) with Dylan Vazzano on the call. Tech collected 11 hits in game one and 14 in game two, hitting .439 on the day with Abbee Klinefelter driving in four runs on the day on a 4-for-6 effort, Sydney Kirby collected four hits and Makayli Harris three. Ashley Capelouto also drove in three in the twinbill.

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After striking out 14 on Saturday, Lainey Fitzgerald had another awesome performance on Sunday as she showcased the offensive side of her game, coming through with a clutch home run to even the game against Iona. The Tennessee Tech softball team finished out the game with a 3-2 victory over the Gaels to wrap up its action in the UNCG Invitational. All three of Tech’s runs came in the fifth inning as the Golden Eagles (6-6) rallied from a 2-0 deficit with Sofia Carroll providing the game-winning hit with a double to left center to drive in pinch-runner Bailee Stack.

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Tennessee Tech softball team opened up the day Friday at the Army Columbus Classic with a big victory over the tournament host, but ran into a speedbump with undefeated Syracuse in the nightcap to end the day with a split. Tech (4-3) defeated Army 9-0 in five innings in the opener, then fell to Syracuse 3-0 later in the day. The Golden Eagles will face the Black Nights again Saturday at 9 AM Central, then will take on the Orange once more at 2 PM.

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Evansville tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, but the Tennessee Tech softball team was able to take advantage of four Purple Ace errors – including three in the top of the eighth – to claim a 7-4 victory to wrap up play at the Furman Paladin Invitational on Sunday. The Golden Eagles head back to Cookeville with a 3-2 record before hitting the road again next weekend for the Army tournament in Columbus, Ga.
