Bio
2023 (Junior): Saw action in 36 games with 35 starts ... had a .224 batting average with 19 hits -- including seven doubles and a home run ... drove in nine and came home to score six times ... had a three-RBI day at UT Martin on April 7, going 2-for-3 ... hit her home run against Western Illinois in the first game of a doubleheader on March 14.
2022 (Sophomore): Talley played in 53 of the team's 54 games, recording a .264 batting average ... collected 37 total hits -- including nine doubles and six home runs ... had 28 RBI and 22 runs scored
AT CHATTANOOGA STATE: A transfer from Chattanooga State CC, Talley finished the 2021 campaign with a .425 batting average as she hit 15 home runs and 10 doubles. She also recorded a .533 on-base percentage. She was named the TCCAA Player of the Year and a third-team All-American, while also earning all-region second-team and all-conference honors.
HIGH SCHOOL: In high school at Carbondale Community High, Talley earned three first-team all-conference selections, as well as a conference MVP honor. The two-year team captain earned a pair of all-state picks and was named to the Southern Illinois Select team for three seasons. She helped lead the team to a regional championship in 2019, hitting .567 as a senior with nine home runs. She ended her prep career with 23 home runs and three times had the highest batting average on the team.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Tennessee Tech softball team improved by leaps and bounds on the diamond this past season, but the Golden Eagles were also hard at work in the classroom. Their efforts paid off as Tech received No. 25 standing in NCAA Division I as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its top GPAs as well as collecting 15 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete selections on Tuesday. The players selected included Carmen Betts, Olivia Evans, Mac Fitzgerald, Meaghan Houk, Jordan Key, Sydney Kirby, Abbee Klinefelter, Brooklin Richardson, Ashlyn Riggs, Alina Schlageter, Abby Shoulders, Bailee Stack, Brooklyn Stewart, Savannah Talley and Emily York.
PEORIA, Ill. – Only one team is going to end the season with a victory. That’s one of the ironclad truths of athletics. It’s also never easy to see the campaign end with a loss, especially in a hard-fought battle like the one Tennessee Tech had Thursday night against Southern Indiana. And the Golden Eagles fought to the very last pitch. As the Screaming Eagles put a run on the board, Tech countered. When the Golden Eagles pulled ahead, USI found a way. Neither team wanted to see their season come to an abrupt stop, but, unfortunately, it is the nature of the beast.
PEORIA, Ill. – The seventh time was the charm as Tennessee Tech found an answer to Lindenwood to take them out in the opening round of the Ohio Valley Conference Softball Championship, winning 7-3 Wednesday morning. The victory advanced the Golden Eagles into the double-elimination rounds and will take on Tennessee State at the conclusion of the UT Martin/SIUE first-round contest. PEORIA, Ill. – This time of year, it’s never over until the final out is recorded. Tennessee Tech might have had a slight cushion heading into the bottom of the seventh, but with as strong as Tennessee State has played this season, it’s unwise to count them out. The Golden Eagles, unfortunately, learned that lesson as the No. 3-seeded Tigers walked off the game with a two-run triple to right from Nahtali Simpson to give TSU the 9-8 victory Wednesday afternoon. Tech (23-23) now falls into the consolation bracket, but the season is not over yet. The Golden Eagles will play again at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, taking on the loser of Game 6 between top-seeded Eastern Illinois and the winner between Wednesday night’s game between Southern Indiana and SIUE.

It was a celebration of the success the program had this season with still much more to go as Tech has clinched a spot in the Ohio Valley Conference softball championships with a weekend still to play, giving the Golden Eagles a chance to raise their standing in the race. Sunday’s series finale against SIUE was a close battle until the sixth inning with the Cougars scoring five runs. Tech (16-16, 7-8 Ohio Valley Conference) is back in action at home this week as the Golden Eagles host Kennesaw State on Wednesday, then a three-game set against UT Martin on Saturday and Sunday. CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Tennessee Tech took a 3-2 lead in game one, but Southeast Missouri rallied to take a 5-3 victory, then claimed a 4-1 win in the night cap to sweep the Golden Eagles on Saturday. The series concludes at noon on Sunday as the Golden Eagles (15-16, 6-8 Ohio Valley Conference)
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After Lindenwood scored eight runs in the second inning, Tennessee Tech battled back, forcing extra innings as Emily York pitched a gem to keep the Golden Eagles alive. But the visiting Lions took the lead in the top of the eighth inning and Tech couldn’t get the hit it needed to keep the game going, falling 9-8 in eight innings. The Golden Eagles fall to 15-14 overall, 6-6 in the Ohio Valley Conference, while Lindenwood improves to 17-16, 6-6 in league play.
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Sunday’s series finale at Morehead State had a lot of twists and turns, but the Tennessee Tech offense broke the game wide open with a five-run fifth inning to take a 9-4 victory to take the series 2-1. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 14-11 overall on the season, 6-3 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Tech has gone 2-1 in each of its first three league series and maintains a solid positioning among the top half of the conference.
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Saturday saw the Tennessee Tech softball team earn a split against homestanding Morehead State as the Golden Eagles claimed the 7-2 victory in the nightcap after falling 4-2 in the opener. The Golden Eagles (13-11, 5-3 Ohio Valley Conference) conclude the series with the Eagles (8-13, 2-6 OVC) on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. Central. MACOMB, Ill. – The Tennessee Tech softball team poured on the offense on Saturday as the Golden Eagles took both ends of the doubleheader at Western Illinois, scoring the go-ahead run in the seventh to take a 12-11 victory in the opener, then topping the Leathernecks 9-4 in the nightcap. The Golden Eagles (12-8, 4-1 Ohio Valley Conference) return to action on Sunday as they look for the sweep against WIU, starting at 12 p.m. Tech currently stands in a tie for first place with Eastern Illinois and Tennessee State.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech tried to battle back on Monday to try to complete the sweep over Southern Indiana, but the visiting Screaming Eagles were able to hold off the Golden Eagles, claiming the 6-3 victory. Tech (9-7, 2-1 Ohio Valley Conference) still wins the series 2-1 and will return to non-conference play on Tuesday morning as the Golden Eagles host Rhode Island in a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. Admission to all games at Tech Softball Field is free to the public.
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – A season ago Tennessee Tech won just two Ohio Valley Conference games and did not claim a single series win. On Sunday, the first day of conference competition, the Golden Eagles won their first two league games and claimed the series win over Southern Indiana – a team that finished third in the conference last season. There’s still a long way to go, but it’s one heck of a statement to get the conference race started as the Golden Eagles topped the Screaming Eagles 2-1 and 5-0 to sweep Sunday’s twinbill.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Trailing 2-0 for the first five innings against Indiana State, Tennessee Tech just needed to find a time to strike. They found it in the sixth and seventh innings as the Golden Eagles scored seven runs in the top of the seventh to take an 8-5 win over the Sycamores to split the second day of the Blues City Tournament. Faith Rush and S.J. Talley each drove in two runs, while Mac Fitzgerald went 3-for-5 in the nightcap, 5-for-9 on the day.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech split its action in the first day of the Blues City Tournament on Friday as the Golden Eagles defeated DePaul 8-4 in their opener, but fell to Indiana State 13-0 in five innings in the second game to break the five-game winning streak. Tech (5-1) will take on the same two teams again on Saturday as the Golden Eagles take on DePaul at 11 a.m., then Indiana State at 7 p.m.
