HIGH SCHOOL: Martin threw for 3,036 yards for a BGA team that finished 11-2 in 2017. He completed 219 of his 311 passes and threw 37 touchdown passes as he averaged 237.2 yards per game. Martin also rushed 74 times for 237 yards and six touchdowns. BGA reached the Division II-AA semifinals before falling to eventual state champ Lausanne Collegiate. In his career, he threw for 5,486 yards and 60 touchdowns, while running for 468 yards and eight rushing touchdowns. He broke BGA's season and career records for passing yardage and touchdowns. Martin was twice named all-region and the region offensive MVP. He was a Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Semi-finalist, while also named to the first-team All-State squad, while playing in the East-West All-Star Game and was a Tennessee Titans Player of the Week.

Second-half effort leads Tech to win over SEMO

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- For David Gist, there must be something about playing against Southeast Missouri.  In his freshman campaign against the Redhawks in 2018, Gist ran for a then-career-high 108 yards and two touchdowns.  Saturday, against the 2021 edition of the SEMO squad, he outdid that, rushing for 133 total yards – a new career best – with two scores, while also adding 11 yards on three catches for 144 all-purpose yards in the contest as he led the Tech offense to a 28-17 victory over the Redhawks at Tucker Stadium.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The fortunes for the Tennessee Tech football team shifted quickly on Saturday. As the Golden Eagles were going in for a potential game-tying score with just over eight minutes remaining, the ball got away and Bryce Dewberry returned it 90 yards for a touchdown. In a matter of seconds, the momentum shifted. Eastern Illinois held on to take a 28-14 victory over the Golden Eagles at Tucker Stadium.

Golden Eagles wrap up pre-OVC slate with loss at Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Entering a sea of orange and white in the Neyland Stadium stands, the Tennessee Tech football team knew they were in for a challenge. Against the Tennessee Volunteers, they certainly got it. While a 56-0 defeat seems pretty difficult to find a positive, there are signs for optimism as the Golden Eagles enter Ohio Valley Conference play next week.
