Bio

Jordan returns from a season on the sidelines as a redshirt in 2014, and came back with an outstanding showing in spring drills...could emerge as a leader among Tech's receivers...extremely fast...can run past people...good hands and a true play-maker...increased strength will help with his blocking...should figure prominently in the Golden Eagle passing attack in 2015...listed on the depth chart as the starter at the Z receiver position...after gaining limited experience and lots of knowledge in his true freshman season in 2012, he was on the field in nine games as a sophomore...fearless in his routes...listed on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll in each of his six semesters at Tennessee Tech.

AT TECH (IN 2014): Sat out the entire season as a redshirt, and took advantage of the down time to work in the Athletic Performance Center to increase his strength and size.

(IN 2013): Jordan saw action in nine games and was the starter in five games...posted 11 catches for 109 yards, ranking eighth on the squad...had one catch in three consecutive games early in the year, then grabbed two passes for 19 yards against No. 2 Eastern Illinois...saw a career-high six receptions to match his career-high of 68 yards in Tech’s road victory at Southeast Missouri.

(IN 2012): Jordan played in five games for the Golden Eagles as a true freshman...had five receptions for 79 yards and his first career touchdown...two catches for 15 yards in his first college game, coming against Hampton...the following week he had two catches for a career-best 68 yards, including scoring on a season-long 62-yard reception from Tre Lamb on Sept. 6, against North Greenville...caught one pass at Oregon but the No. 4 ranked Ducks were prepared and caught him behind the line.

IN HIGH SCHOOL: A two-time Division II-AA all-state selection, Jordan Smith was also a second-team All-Mid-State pick as a senior and a two-time all-region pick while starting at wide receiver for coach Roc Batten at Battle Ground Academy...led the conference in receptions, yards and touchdowns, making 57 catches for the Wildcats for 859 yards and 14 trips into the end zone...helped BGA reach the TSSAA state playoffs his final two seasons.

PERSONAL: The son of Melvin and Jackie Smith...born September 28, 1994...full name is Jordan Tyler Smith...younger brother of fellow TTU senior receiver Josh Smith...majoring in pre-physical therapy.
