Bio

Tyler is working to return from off-season knee surgery which sidelined him for all of 2015 spring drills...was a key offensive lineman in the 2014 season, but a late-season injury bothered him down the stretch...will work hard in the off-season summer individual time to return to the field...has tremendous overall strength, with great upper body strength...outstanding in the run game and working to develop into a more effective part of pass protection...if he's healthy, he figures to play an important role as one of three guards in Tech's everyday rotation...local player from down the road in Gordonsville, Tenn...familiar with playing and winning in Tucker Stadium, helping lead his team to a dramatic victory in the 2012 TSSAA state championship game...has all the tools to be a great collegiate player...was a two-way prep standout in the offensive line and at linebacker, and is concentrating on offensive line for the Golden Eagles.

AT TECH(IN 2014): Tyler played in 10 games in the Golden Eagle offensive line and started in six contests in his first season of action.

(IN 2013): Redshirted as a freshman...was a memeber of the Golden Eagle scout team where he spent time working on developing his strength and learning the Tech system.

HIGH SCHOOL: Voted as Tennessee Mr. Football Class A Lineman and the Upper Cumberland Defensive Player of the Year...a first-team All-State pick as an offensive lineman by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association...a team captain, he was also named All-Region 4A for the Tigers, who finished 14-1 and captured the TSSAA Class 4A state title in Tucker Stadium in dramatic fashion...as a senior, he finished with 88 tackles, including 16 tackles-for-loss and six quarterback sacks...for his four-year career, he posted 289 tackles, with 12 sacks and 37 tackles-for-loss.
