A speedy cornerback, James spent his first year on the Golden Eagle roster as a redshirt and began learning the system...excellent quickness and instincts for getting to the ball... has made one appearance on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll List.

AT TECH (In 2012): James had begun to establish himself as a solid contributor and a starter at cornerback when he was sidelined for the season's final game with a concussion...played in nine games and started in three...first collegiate start came at Southeast Missouri...also started against Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee State...best game of the year came against eventual league champion Eastern Illinois with 11 tackles and an interception...finished the year with 20 total tackles including 13 unassisted...broke up two pass attempts.

(In 2011): James saw the field in five contests for the Golden Eagles in his first collegiate action...had two unassisted tackles in Tech's season opener at Iowa for his only stats of the year.

(In 2010): James was a redshirt for the Golden Eagles in his first year on the roster.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-year starter for coach Raymond Bonner at Cedar Grove High School...played cornerback and paced the defense, and lined up as a wide receiver for the offense...twice named all-county for his defensive skills...a versatile athlete, he was a three-time state champion in track & field...part of the state's fastest 4x400 meter relay team as a sophomore and junior at the GHSAA championships...individually, he won the 400-meter dash as a senior.

PERSONAL: The son of Peronnica Huguely and James Huguely, Sr....full name is James Alan Huguely... born August 21, 1992, in Decatur, Ga...majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
