A promising defensive lineman who has already proven himself in the classroom as a two-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll...looking forward to earning extended playing time for the Golden Eagles in his third season on the roster and second on the field...saw limited action as a redshirt freshman in 2012, and comes into fall camp listed third on the depth chart at the hybrid "Bear" position...has shown excellent work habits in the weight room while developing his strength...has the speed and agility to pressure quaterbacks and track down ball carriers.

AT TECH (In 2012): Stepfon saw the field in one game in 2012, getting into the Nov. 3 matchup against Eastern Illinois.

BEFORE TECH: Stepfon ranked among the top defensive players in West Tennessee as a senior at Mitchell High School in Memphis...a first-team All-Metro selection and second-team 16-AAA all-district winner after making 54 tackles, including 14 tackles-for-loss and six quarterback sacks...broke up three passes, had 15 quarterback hurries and returned a fumble 85 yards for a touchdown.
