Bio
After sitting out the 2009 season as a redshirt, Carter worked
his way onto the field as a member of the special teams as a
freshman...a wide reciever, he began to make an impact during
spring drills and comes into the season listed second on the depth
chart behind Tim Benford at one of the wide receiver positions in
Tech's spread offense...has the skills to emerge as a contributor
during his career.
AT TECH (In 2010): Carter's hard work earned him
a role on the special teams in kick coverage...saw action in five
games and had one tackle, making an unassisted stop against UT
Martin.
(In 2009): A member of the team, Carter worked on the
scout teams as a redshirt in his first season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Carter was a three-year starter at
defensive back and played both ways his junior and senior years for
Dalton High School...selected to the All State Team by the Georgia
Athletic Coaches Association...named all region and all area his
junior and senior years... Daily Citizen News Player of the week
four times and was also selected to the All-North Georgia team by
the Chattanooga Times News Free Press...chosen Team Captain and
received the Golden Helmet award from the coaching staff...during
his junior year, he was credited for 95 tackles, four
interceptions, caught 21 passes for 372 yards...as a senior, he
accounted for 89 tackles and two interceptions...also had 19
receptions for 358 yards and two touchdowns...forced three fumbles
and recovered two...also a four-year starter for the baseball team
at third base and was
named to the all-area baseball team three consecutive
years...scholar-athlete all four years at Dalton High.
