Bio
2024 (Freshman): Whitcomb played in 40 of the team’s 55 games as a true freshman, making all 33 of his starts on the year as the designated hitter… tallied a .280 average, .366 on-base percentage, and .456 slugging percentage with a .822 OPS… totaled 35 hits, four doubles, six home runs, 16 runs, 23 RBI, and 18 walks… made his collegiate debut with a 2-for-4 showing as a starter against Bellarmine (Feb. 17)… smashed a three-run shot for his first career home run against Bellarmine (Feb. 18)… delivered season-highs of four hits, four RBI, and two long balls at #17 Vanderbilt (Apr. 30)… drove in three runs on two hits while scoring a season-high three runs against Eastern Illinois (May 5)… tallied three hits with two runs at SIUE (May 10)… after seeing his batting average fall to a season-low .200, kicked off a 16-game stretch to close the year with a 1-for-1 showing as a pinch-hitter at Lindenwood (Apr. 14), batting .400 with 12 of his 23 RBI and seven of his 10 extra-base hits on the year… produced nine multi-hit contests during the season… drove in multiple runs in six games.
