Bio

Elois Grooms lettered four times in football under Coach Don Wade, helping Tech capture the 1972 OVC championship and advance to the Grantland Rice Bowl. A two-time All-OVC selection, the "Giant Sequoyah" was named AFCA, Kodak, UPI, and AP All-American in 1974. He was the winner of the Robert Hill Johnson Award as the team’s MVP in 1974. He still holds the Tech record for quarterback sacks in one game, getting five against Murray State in 1974.
