Bio
Dr. Sidney L. "Doc" McGee was the first person elected to Tech's Hall of Fame who was not either an athlete or a coach. He earned this honor by serving as Tech's unofficial sports information director for many years. Hired in 1939, he was a member of the faculty for 29 years. He was chosen to chair the Tech Athletics Hall of Fame selection committee when it was first established. He was honored after retirement by having the street in front of Eblen Center named after him as well as having two scholarships founded in his name.
