Bio
Diamond Henderson, a redshirt sophomore on the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team, entered the season as a relative unknown. Henderson rose from a reserve player to the leading scorer for the Golden Eagles and played an instrumental role in Tech capturing a share of the 2013 regular season OVC title and its third-straight appearance in the tournament championship game. Henderson capped off her season as the only sophomore recognized on the All-OVC First-Team and the youngest member of the OVC all-tournament team. Henderson led Tennessee Tech and ranked among conference leaders in several categories during her sophomore season, including points (490/15.8 ppg). During the season, she recorded double-figure points in 28 games and opened the season with a career-high 31 points, becoming the sixth guard in Tech program history with a 30+ point performance. Henderson was recognized as OVC Player of the Week twice during the year and was named the team's Best Offensive Player at its annual awards dinner.
