Getting to know Greg Kitts

 

 

TEE TALK: Greg has solid swing fundamentals and is a consistent ball striker...has improved his scoring with tournament experience...straight hitter off the tee and in the fairway...gaining confidence in his game with each event...brings youthful enthusiasm...he was a two-sport athlete who showed leadership throughout high school...has strong leadership qualities and potential to impact the Golden Eagle golf program in upcoming seasons and help lead Tech to high finishes.

AT TECH:
2011-12: Greg played in all five of Tech's fall tournaments, totaling 14 rounds of golf...notched two top 10 finishes, first placing in a tie for ninth out of 80 golfers with a 74-72-72=218 at the Skyhawk Classic, then finishing two-under-par and placing sixth with a 69-71=140 at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate...shot a career-low round of 67 in the second round of the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate and went on to finish tied for 15th out of 92 golfers in the event...finished with a stroke average of 72.5, tied for best on the team...improved his 2010-11 average by more than three strokes.

PERSONAL: Greg is the son of Greg Sr. and Kim Kitts...born April 5, 1991 in Caryville...full name is Gregory Caleb Kitts...majoring in exercise science.
