Sytia Messer to host basketball camps
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech women’s basketball coach Sytia Messer will host the Sytia Messer Kids and Team Basketball Camps June, 10-16.
The camps will feature the third-year Golden Eagle head coach,
and the rest of Messer’s coaching staff. Named the 2011 Ohio
Valley Conference Coach of the Year, Messer guided the Golden
Eagles to a 23-8 record and the 2010-11 regular season OVC
championship.
A play date is scheduled for June 4. Three games will be
guaranteed for each team that register, with games beginning at 8
a.m. The registration fee is $75 dollars per team and $25 for each
player.
The team camp will held June 10-12, with six games guaranteed
to each team that registers. For commuting teams, registration is
$125 and $75 for each player, while boarding teams will be charged
$125 for registration and $145 for each player that includes two
nights housing and meals.
The kids basketball camp, to be held June 13-16, will help
aspiring basketball players with their fundamentals on offense,
defense and teamwork. Open to kids ranging from first-eighth grade,
campers will be able to hone their shooting, ball handling,
rebounding and other skills needed to become a better basketball
player.
The registration fee is $170, which includes lunch each day
and a t-shirt. The camp hours run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will
be held at the Eblen Center, fitness center and the Memorial
Gymnasium located on the Tennessee Tech campus.

and is operated by coaches of Tennessee Tech. Although the camp may
be held on the campus of Tennessee Tech, it is not owned or
operated by the University.
